Hard to compare these two. Best to read some reviews. Internal audio cards have many distortions since they are close to other electronic components in your PC but external sound cards aren't interfered by anything and the 2.0 usb bus is fast enough for flawless transmission. Another good thing is your headphones are always plugged in, if you want to use your speakers you simply turn the volume knob for headphones down and turn the volume knob for speakers up and vice versa.Gooners wrote:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I'm majority depressed that my computer is still not working (mobo still being RMA'd) so I needed to cheer myself up.
Should be nice when everything's up and running again. It will look funny hooked up to my 8.9" netbook!
