I'm a fan of the WW2 era weapons, my personal favorite being the German Mauser Kar98k. The MP44 is also one of my faves since it's the first assault rifle ever created & is the predecessor of the AK47.
1st with the Park 52,
100-ish with the Takao pistol
400-ish with APM mines
300-400 in overall Combat

Not to brag, but I do better in close combat with the sniper than any other gun in the game.Drax wrote:
im thinking of focusing on being a sniper in 2142. im getting to be a good shot and prefer to run into battle rather than hang back.
k my question is, what do u do when an enemy pops up at close range? and they have an assault rifle.
i generally stay standing up and try to get a sniper shot then whip out the pistol?
so wat do u guys do? stand/crouch/hop/lay? and do u try and get a quick sniper shot off or move to pistol/nades straight away?
just interested what the pros do...
thanks
Here's a familiar scenario:
Guy pops up in front of you, goes prone. What do you do? I usually either shoot while standing up, or go prone myself. But you have to remember, it absolutely HAS to be a headshot. If you hit him somewhere else, your next best bet is to whip out your pistol with great speed or else you're toast. If you happen to miss your first shot, either take out your pistol with even greater swiftness, or if the area has some sort of cover, run to your nearest it quickly , laying down an APM mine (or perhaps throwing a nade) on the way. It all depends on location.
If the guy is shooting at you while standing, do the same thing, and again, aim for the noggin. I also have a tendency to jump up to the side after I shoot the nearby enemy (no not bunnyhop, just do it once to hopefully mess up his aim and buy you time to reload).
Just remember, to survive, 9/10 times the shot needs to go through the opponent's brains. Take your time to do this at first, practice, and you'll catch up eventually. You'll be able to counter these situations more quickly and efficiently.
P.S.: The knife is your friend too in these types of confrontations. Don't forget that you have one!
Oh, and don't forget to teabag the dead fella too
Fall of Berlin is my sniping heaven.
46 (I think) by sniping, overall it's at 3.80 atm.
Haha, that's quite funny. I was kicked from the same server because I was spotting a bunch of enemies and Skunk considered it "spam." He was lucky that I was on him team else I wouldve cut him too (wouldve been easy since all he does is sit around and command).
well, my K-D is about 4, so yep, pretty easy
Park,
pistol,
apm mines.
pistol,

It's not the gun that makes the difference. It's the person who is using the gun.

Depends on what you like to do the most.
Out of all of those I'd go for either claymore or the Clark. That thing is a beast.

Once you get used to the sway, you won't even notice that it's there. I have the stabilizer unlock and very rarely have to resort to it to get headshots.
Conquest.

Quit complaining... People like you are the reason that the BH was nerfed in BF2.
