I kinda 'sploited once on accident. I was playing Ghost Town on the SPETZ side and immediately applied for commander and jumped in the transport helo. As I was flying towards the Upper North Side I got chosen for command, so I bailed from the chopper and parachuted towards the flag. I ended up floating past the flag and literally inside the big building between the Upper North and Upper South spawn points
Since I was commander I just lied there and commanded, took a few screenshots for posterity, etc. I didn't try to shoot out although I'm sure I could have.
The only reason I posted this is because it's totally NOT a repeatable exploit. Although it would be funny to see a bunch of douche nozzles trying to reproduce it

Just throw a grenade on to the roof you mentioned to clear snipers...
And to answer your questions, you can't jump and throw C4 and I don't know if it'll detonate in air, but it'll be hard to find out unless you're dropping them off the TV station roof
Also, I explosives (C4 or grenade) won't clear claymores anymore if I read correctly. The 1.2 patch notes might have only been talking about AT mines though.

No. I assumed this, because the crew service ribbons require 20 driver kill assists (when someone else in your vehicle kills somebody), and 1 driver special ability point. Since this is obviously something seperate from "driver kill assists", and the only other time I've gotten points while driving was when I healed/resupplied/repaired somebody via proximity to my vehicle, this lead me to the conclusion that THAT is a "driver special ability point". I got my Vet. Engineer badge on Warlord. I was SAS and two of the Insurgent doods were hell-bent on destroying our command assets. I kept going back and forth with them for about the last half of the round. I'd sit in an APC and kill them when I saw them, and park next to our dead assets. Sometimes I wouldn't see them drive up and they'd C4 me; I had to hunt them down and MP7 them, etc. etc. This went on for a good 10 minutes and I finally got my Vet. Engineer badge... I wasn't even trying for it

His stats got reset, which means he has a global score of 0 (zero). BF2s is coded so that it won't even bother pulling your stats until you have 100 pts. This is another baby-expansion. They're calling it a "Booster pack". It's only $10, download only (no CDs) and you get 3 maps a new army with new weapons, a new medal to go with that army, and obviously new vehicles... There are actually 2 boosters scheduled. He got a GUID ban actually. And I've updated the first post of this thread with a HUGE NEON GREEN blurb that generally says your clan are good guys and did the right thing by immediately booting him when you found out. I say "legal" since it was your choice and there was no rule or repercussion for using other weapons. I'm just surprised you found a whole server worth of people that were cooperative with something like that... Cuz I know I would have been tempted to rack up a bunch of Assault Rifle kills during that Pistols-only round
