I'm a liberal and I don't believe his shit about botching a joke. His joke was just completely tasteless.Fancy_Pollux wrote:

Then you are naive. What politician in their right mind would publicly say such a thing intentionally? He meant by the joke that if you don't study, etc. you get stuck in Iraq like President Bush. He was attempting to accuse Bush of being an idiot for getting us in this situation, not accuse our soldiers of being stupid. When I saw him deliver this joke so poorly, I rolled my eyes thinking "here we go again". And sure enough, a shit storm followed and it was "John Kerry is a flip-flopper" all over again. That's not saying I'm going to vote for him, though. I'm saying that these stupid-ass catch phrases are becoming tiresome and detract from the real issues. I gaurantee you that in the 2004 election, 99% of the people who voted for Bush couldn't tell you ANYTHING about John Kerry other than "he is a flip-flopper".kilgoretrout wrote:

Too bad he avoided the draft and didn't actually serve in the military. Thus we KNOW he doesn't support our troops and thinks they are dumb.Fancy_Pollux wrote:

It wasn't a joke, that's just the best thing he could come up with to excuse it. John Kerry really believes you would have to be a moron to end up a grunt. He saw early on in his career that grunts get shit on by hack polititans who would rather see them get killed than lose face politically. Real power is in politics.kilgoretrout wrote:

And who the fuck was it who Went to Vietnam and filmed his Service to advance his career, Then goes before congress and Shoved a Knife so deep in the backs of ALL american troops by saying thet they were all baby killers and murders? ON MY BAD, I Must be thinking of someone else. Your ass wasnt even probably alive when this shit went down, I sure was and remember it like it were yesterday. His Bullshit made a whole generation get treated like SHIT, while he copped out and went on his political way. I watched 5 of my fathers friends whither away into nothing because of that war, they served because of there desire to serve there country. then this asshole had the nerve to degrade them? In front of the nation while calling himself a soldier? You and half the kids on this site are just out of your minds. I hope to god i get cancer from smoking frigging soon, because if People here are ANY indication where this world is headding, I hope the hell im dead.The_Shipbuilder wrote:

Oh wait.
Oh.
Right.
My bad. Kerry's a vet.
Who was it again that dodged Vietnam and then played air force dress-up... it's coming to me...
Lets see, he supported the Vietnam war, then turned against. He voted that we go into Iraq, then blamed Bush and the Republicians for it. Both the Dems and the Rep had the same documents, neither one of them looked at it and researched the facts. The latest blotched joke, remember his first remarks were "I will not say I am sorry". Two days later, "I am sorry that the Reps. turned my blotch joke around on me." (This in not even getting into the fact that his grades were lower in college the Bush's. So I wonder where the troops would be if he was in office, or does that make his plan even worse the Bushs?) TBH, when I heard the excuse that he blotched the joke, the first thing that came out of my mouth was it looks like a cover up. A joke that is that criticial if missed up, you make for sure you say it correctly. Remember the saying, "The best way to predict the future, is by pass preformance."Fancy_Pollux wrote:

I hope that the Dems do not give use a Gore/Clinton/Kerry as options for the pres. I would like to see someone like Obama, or McCain for the Rep. These two seem more in line with what America wants, rather then the current Dem and Rep. I would love to have a person from either party that is more in the "center" then left or right winged.
