ok here it is: i think the version im running is v1.0.2442
wheni log on there is only one site that i can play that is ranked ( htk9)
iv been playing onhere for about 3 months and no increase in rank i have gotten a few metals
my score is 1850 and my rank meter has not increased. i should advance at 2500. i also installed all the updates about 6 months ago and couldnt find no sites to play on in multiplayer. so i uninstalled and reinstalled the game and only put in a few updates. i hope some one can help me i realy think this is a cool game even fora guy who is dam near 40. plz help me. by the way this is the best site that i have found dealing with bf2

Ok.

Most servers don't play with that patch, you have to update to patch 1.4

That's why you can't find any servers to play on.

Also, you need to play on RANKED servers to get your global points increased.

Now here is the full patch, which is about 530MB. It installs everything. 1.12, 1.2 etc etc.

Now if you have at least one patch, don't download that one, go to google.ca and search for Battlefield 2 1.4 Incremental Patch

thats ryan but when i installed patch 1.4 there was no listing of anything when i went on to multiplayer. it was like there were no servers

Did you install it right when it came out? Most servers didn't update right away. Try again, see if there are still no server, and if it still messes up, just search around on the forums. There's probably 10 threads on this, you'll definitely find the answer.

i installed 1.4 full know it tells me i have v 1.1.2925-757.0 what is that and ofcourse no severs at all with this version i think i goofed again

well obviously you are having problem with the patch more than anything - perhaps if you explain what you are doing to patch it? Did it complete ok? No errors? Did it find your bf2 folder?

once you get to 1.4 youll find lots of servers

heres what i did i installed 1.4 and everthing was perfect. but no servers to be found. i uninstalled bf2, reinstalled then installed 1.4 and nope same thing. so im using 1.3 and not 1.4 it installed with no problems or errors
killer as for ur question ull have to forgive me my rank stayed the same as before but what r the filters for. when i get to multiplayer i clicked on everything to try to get it to work and nothing happens.

and you can find servers with 1.3? I know theres still a bunch of them on 1.3 and yes you will get any badges and points (as long as the servers ranked) if you play on them.

if when you checked everything there is a tab there that says "apply filters".you said you checked everything so you should of been good.sorry Ive never seen or had that problem,hope you get on the "ranked" battlefield soon...

*btw,you say your too old for this,near 40?

dude it the filter thing doesn't work, are you behind a wireless router? if yes u'd need to open some ports for bf2

Two remarks on this.

1. If you use a firewall , give the BF2.exe program access to the internet; most firewalls will ask permisson yes/no.

2. Once the new patch v1.4 is installed, try not check all filters in the-apply filter- section: try limit it to about 5 ( example: ranked, players on, same version, all maps )
