The Royal Navy's own amphibious infantry are the Royal Marines, acknowledged as one of the world's elite fighting forces.Knight`UK wrote:
Nice for you to say that but to say the RM are more navy then army would get you a hard time in the forces over here lol .demondspawn wrote:
Are we on about standard Army or special forces, not that it matters British army all the way.
1, SAS - special air service
2, SBS - special boat service
3, Gurkha's
4, Parachute regiment
And although not part of the army more the navy
5, Royal marines
Gurha's are probable the hardest trained out of all the UK forces and the debate between RM and Para's on who is the best will go on for-ever but for me the SAS own it .
UK Forces ftw
And the have some mean Swiss army knives as well.Pierre wrote:

The US army are being shown a lot of 'respect' in Iraq aren't they? Things like Abu Ghraib tend to preclude you from attending 'most respected army' award ceremonies.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Probably Canadian. Rarely an ulterior motive and good sensible soldiers. They command respect.
US army and Australian Army. Canada just screws around too much, and I don't think a bunch of boy scouts could be called an army.
On a political level, making the right choice garners respect. Let's hope the Dems do the decent thing and pull out. The individual soldiers (those not involved in Abu Ghraib, Haditha, etc.) deserve respect sure but the bad deeds of a few have tarnished the image of the whole unfortunately. Hence my selection of Canada.kr@cker wrote:

Hence my reference to individual soldiers in the post above. PS Doesn't he play guitar for Pink Floyd too?Kmarion wrote:

This little girl's entire family was executed. They intended to execute her also, and shot her in the head, but they failed to kill her. She was cared for by John's hospital and is healing up, but has been crying and moaning. The nurses said John is the only one she seems to calm down with, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both sleep in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

Also no country on earth has more training for their soldiers than America.

The bad deeds of a few have not tarnished the image of the whole for me. Only if one labels the whole armed forces by the deeds of a few can you come to that conclusion. Those who choose to take such a stance prove their initial bias against the US military. I have family that's served and friends that are currently in the Marines. I respect no one more than them for their bravery.CameronPoe wrote:

i fail to see how abandoning an entire nation to fend for itself against well armed and funded anarchists, many of them outsiders, not actual insurgents, is the right thing to do, why do i have a sneaking suspiciion that had we done that immediately after deposing saddam those that critiscize us for staying would be critiscizing us for leaving.
