This may seem like a rather pointless question, but I'm curious as to whether or not players who are more physically active have better performance in games such as BF2. I know at least for myself, that I tend to play better when I'm maintaining some level of physical activity in my life aside from working my keyboard and mouse for work or games. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'd be curious to see the SPM's and KD ratios for players who regularly work out or stay active with sports, hiking, running, biking, rafting, skiing/snowboarding, etc. It seems that there is a stereotype that the best video/computer game players are skinny pimple-faced teens who devote all their time in front of a monitor, but I believe this stereotype is overused and inadequately represents the gaming population.

Thoughts?

i'd imagine it might make a difference in hand-eye coordination and reflexes.  interesting question though...it could make for a good class project.

It's all about your mental awareness, eg: tired, drunk, just waking up, etc.

I seriously don't think being physically fit has any major impact playing a computer game, though it can indirectly effect your mental state. If your body feels great, so do you.

2.73 SPM.. never exercise really. I'd agree with whoever said it was mental state instead of physical. I can definetly tell a difference when I'm frustrated/upset. Conversly, I can tell a difference when I'm in a good mood.

For instance, my heart beats like the drums on a metallica show when I knife somebody. That is when I haven't been active for quite a while like in the winter, but in the summer I am as cool as if nothing ever happened.

Only change in my performance is when I'm stoned off my ass and play. Spent one map shooting at a box for 15 minutes solid. Everyone just kinda played around me cause they couldn't figure out what was going on in my head. Gave someone a bunch of ammo points though

My skill is proportionate to my feeling. If I feel bad then I play shitty, if I have a cold and an ear infection I can't shoot anything fast enough to even want to play, if I feel fine then I play great.

so your heart can't handle anything more complex than a 4/4 quarter beat and likes to pretend it has talent?

sorry but i had to do it. metallica has a terrible drummer.

so according to this theory, games which require you to be physically active should result in the best videogame performance? like dance dance revolution?

I usually exercise 3 times a week doing a full body work out and i'll tell you it helps alot as it helps your overall well being and confidence, but lately i have not been working out because i have no job right now and no money so i hate working out with my best workout buddy, whey protein.
