That's wrong. You can take the money whether you retire or not as long as you meet the minimum age requirement (59.5).

I see where you're coming from, but if I know how to properly set up my retirement, how is someone else's ineptness in doing so my responsibility? I wouldn't expect anyone else to fund my retirement, so why should I have to fund someone else's?

funny thing is, 401k's and shit make my head spin, i half expect to be in the poorhouse when i'm old and decrepit because i have such a hard time figuring out the shit, but i'm still not drumming up handouts for my assisted living days
