Well don't really care about ads in those games or in BF2142 but the ads might not suit in BF2142.
so carbon is the newest NFS right? with better graphics then Most wanted?
only night time, dont played enough to make a comparasion, new features like crew.
it's for pc, xbox, xbox360 etc.
im waiting for block buster to get some copies, i wanna rent it for xbox.
EDIT: Yucky RX-8's. They are nice, but get an Evo or the RX-7.

ea = adds
all they think about is money

Saw a game review program today. It gave BF2142 the score 9/10. They thought it was adware, which was the only minus thing but although they said the game is great, it couldnt make up for the ads

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I never actually notice ads in games. I played Need for Speed Carbon for a while and didn't actually know that T-Mobile had their brand there. I have not noticed a single advertisement in Battlefield 2142, either.
It's not really a short attention span, but more like, I have an immunity to actually notice these things. Maybe I'm mentally, and passively, blocking this stuff out. Automagically. Ohhh yeah.

When ducking below incoming mech fire and hiding under a truck, take a moment to notice that you too can save $$$ on your phone bill this month. We will then help you take advantage of this special offer by crashing you to desktop where you can browse the supplier site.kachunkachunk wrote:

Companies make money. Unless it's a non profit cooperation (charity).
Ads can be good or, bad depending on the game.
Anarchy Online for instance. Once a monthly fee MMO is now completely free due to in-game ads.
Games like Need for Speed have product placement like the X mobile but, it only adds to the immersion of the game. Just like a driving game. I am sure most prefer real cars to not. Most racing games are just a big car commercial now that I think about it. Ever wonder why there is no car damage on a lot of driving games. Some car companies don't want there cars to be shown all manged and, crushed. Bad "advertising"? Sounds cheesy but, it's true.
As long as the ads are linked to the game some way or, another I'm fine with it. I wouldn't mind seeing a Coca-Cola ad. I'm sure it will still be around in 2142. I honestly don't pay attention to the ads enough to care but, seeing say, an ad for Tiger Woods 2007 would get a *sigh* out of me.

At least there are no Adult Friendfinder advertisements in BF2142.
FIND A FUCK FRIEND IN YOUR BATTLEFIELD NOW!
Or maybe it'll do something weird with your cookies and find out your exact location. Really quite creepy. It even gets the part of the city right for me. ;_;
In case you havent noticed. NFS is full of brands.
- All car brand
- All part brands
- Body kits
- The phone system
