Hi guys, im about to reformat my PC, but before i do i wanted to leave a post asking what the best driver for my video card might be. From what i hear, the latest isnt always the best.

I have an Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 256mb.
Windows XP Home Edition.

Ill hop back on here after i reformat and see whats recomended.

Thanx in advance

Ouch, such an old card. For Nvidia cards the best drivers are usually the latest. But I would read the changelog to see if any of the changes apply to your specific hardware.

Yes I got a 6600 GT 256MB and battlefield 2 is still crashing on me for some reason every 30 minutes or so. It might be a driver proplem.

I would say 6600 GT series are the lowest that battlefield 2 would run smoothly on.

Yeah guy, lose that 5200 right smartly and get a 6600.
As for "latest drivers", that will run BF2, try using those that were supplied on the installer CD/DVD

Before I upgraded to my current pc I used an FX 5500.

It would run the game no problem, but had to cut way back on the settings.

I updated the drivers from Nvidia's site and it caused all kinds of problems. Once I rolled back to the previous version it smoothed back out.

I am running a GeForce 7800 gt now and life is good. If you haven't seen this game in 1280x1024 with everything on high you will be blown away when you do.
