Why the hell did EA make 2142 a PC DVD only game, not everyone has that. I have a PC CD rom so I can't play it. ugh.....
get one then ;D
Its Called Ea Downloader - Get It!
Because one DVD is cheaper to produce than 3 or 4 CDs.
Well, my good sir, guess you have stopped evolving - you should know its very gay to not have a DVD !

And easier to install. It's just technology advancing, Computer Game CDs are going the same way as the VCR. It was ridiculous having up to five or six CDs to install one game.

A processer for 500$ and a video card for 650$... damn it, no 15$ left for a DVD drive.
I wonder how many floppy discs it would take to hold Bf2...

There should be a law that every software program should be available on 5-1/4" floppies! Oh, wait, I don't have one of those anymore! LOL.
I remember having MS Word (or maybe Office) on 3-1/2" floppies - all 50 of them. That was a bitch to install.
Anyway, back on topic. Get a DVD loser. You can get one for less than the price of the game!

BF2 size divided by floppy disc capacity. Not hard.FredFLQ wrote:

Edit: Floppy disc capacity, in case you're wondering: 1.44MB.

Better question... who still only has a cd drive in their computer?? With the kind of specs you need to play games these days you would figure that DVD drive would be standard by now.
No.stryyker wrote:

Well yea, EA is gay. . .
But I think adding MORE spyware to your cpu is even MORE GAY!!!
That is so low ball and bs!! The fact that EA has outsourced advertising into the game is rediculous!! Once I found that out, I will NOT be buying a marketing ploy!! Which is exactly what 2142 is!!

Whats a cd? I tried installing BF2 through the cassette drive of my Spectrum 48k, it crashed to black screen... It looks great now I have one of those new fangled COLOUR tvs, it has 8 (count em) colours if you're good at BASIC.
ea downloader isnt helping, it only shows trailers, the patch for 2142 and the demo, no game
