It's not what you are thinking. I'm at work right now and reading the forum I asked myself, why is it so hard to get people into a debate without any flaming or bashing?
Today I posted an article from Discovery about Whaling. I received several nice replies about it. Of course, mods had a lot of work with that. Sorry guys.
The thing is why do we always end like bitches flaming against other people??
If you don't agree with me, try to convince me with intelligent arguments or explain your viewpoint without verbal harassment.
Once, I had a little fight with usmarine, and we both acted like children, and I regret that happened. I don't consider usmarine an asshole just because he doesn't think like me. I think he can debate and give his viewpoints with sense, although I don't share them at all.
But many people, are just incoherent and they only bash and flame other people without any argument to support their viewpoints.
I know a lot of you think I'm an asshole, and it's fine, you have the right to do that, but keep it for you, don't post it.
There'll always be people who you agree with and people you don't. So, take it or leave it, but let's begin to respect each other, because debate is not about bitching and flaming, (from the dictionary)it's an argument, or discussion, usually in an ordered or formal setting, often with more than two people, generally ending with a vote or other decision.

I think people use the word "flaming" to often. If I bring up old comments and just bitch and moan without a point, yes that is flaming

But if I quote someone and discuss what they said, that is not flaming. That is a rebuttal.

I've just been learning not to befriend anyone here because they may karma me one day, and be digusted with me the next because i believe in God and Jesus Christ! or vice versa. I"m probably one of the more isolated and broadminded persons on this forum, and that's made me a magnet of disdain and praise.

I could easily stick with the liberal blogs I read daily (crooksandliars.com thinkprogress.org michaelmoore.com), but it's always one sided....like it mostly is here with the guys that get hard-ons when they know real people are dying in Iraq and at the thought of killing mentally handicapped people..or worse, when someone mentions religion! lol

Where did I flame anyone as you are bitching at me? I've been called a lot of thinks about that post, just for defending whales. I don't force my opinion on anyone, I give my viewpoints.
