Special abilitIes - Only to be inserted into any map with only five minutes to go thus not proving very effective
                          Can call in an air strike but only on team members.

I think the AA kit is a good option, just replace the AT launchers with shoulder mounted Stingers or something. Then you would have:

never going to happen... i would personnally love that but it would be too unfair as this would instantly kill any person or destroy any humvee or jeep with one shot to the petrol tank or engine.

Probably something like a communications scout or something of the sort would be nice..

Ie. Something with a basic assault rifle, pistol, knife.

But with one small exception, as they have special ability to relay all coordinates of enemies in their binocular sight to the commander, or maybe even the whole team. It'd be particularly useful because it would allow commanders to gauge armor movements and predict the best place to lay arty markers. That sort of thing. Other than that, i got nothing..

Don't know if this is in the other 5 pages of posts, but here ya go...

Forward Air Controller (FAC)

Sprint-- Meduim

Targeting laser (select, no weapon in hand, left click setup)

Two badges.  One for FAC combat and one for successful laser assisted kills (like medic and support).  FAC Support maybe?

Points-- First "spotter" gets credit in cases of more then one "laze" on one target.  Friendly laser on friendly target with kill penalizes the spotter -4 ,plus number of team deaths and the shooter -1 plus number of team deaths (you said shoot so I shot).  So, two in a tank for the shooter would be -1 - 2= -3.  Where as the spotter would be -4 - 2= -6. For enemy kills, 2 team points for spotter and 'X' number of kills per shot, for shooter just kills.

Special Abilities--  Allows BVR (Beyond Visible Range, but not from one side of a map to the other) targeting for helos and jets (with missiles) with laser (this could be tough in rough terrain like Kubra or Fushee and really hard in foggy weather).  Uses binoculars to spot targets that show in HUD of jet or helo and on mini- map for extended period of time.  On no air-asset maps can be used to extend range of anti-tank/ TOW.

Weaknesses--  3 Second setup/dismantle of targeting system.  Shooter must have a clear shot from where they are to where the target is.  Targeting/ spotting can only be done from ground (no "Ha ha!  I'm in a blackhawk and we can see everyone!").  Spotter and shooter have to be looking at (flying toward) the same target and spotter has to stay on target, plus if either one dies, missile misses (teamwork at its best) and if target moves in cover, miss.  One "laze", one shot.  Can't sweep with laser for targets (lock with left click, off with right click, if unlock after missiles normal range, miss). Targeting system has limited battery life less than NVGs in SF (recharged with supply bag).  When targeting system is setup, you show as target in jet HUD.

Sounds like more cons than pros perhaps, but it would be awesome...  Folks using this kit would have to coordiate with air assest, anti-tank and TOWs and visa-versa.  No real balance issue as any map with air power, both sides have it and anyone can mount a TOW or carry the anti-tank kit.  In addition you couldn't just sit still if you showed as a target to a jet.

And I was thinking, screw the anti-air kit, give it to the Anti-armour.

Screw the scout, stealth or or simislar kits, that's what the snipers and Spec. Ops. are for.

Rambo, Sex Medics and the Easter-Bunny are actually kits in BF2, they just happen to be grouped into the Kit called "Noobs". I mean, if you can't even shoot straight, then you get to be a Bunny.

Enough with the ranting, here's mine:

Engineers can get a mortar when they get to a supply drop, with 20 ammo, and must get to either a support or another box for ammo after using. It doesn't require a engineer to use, just for it to be deployed.
*Note: I mean you don't start with it, you get it from a supply crate.

So that rules out the mortar kit...

perhaps a position for UAV controller would work, make the UAV able to be shot down by ONLY small arms, allow 2 UAVs per battlefield, remotely controlled by a UAV controller back at the base..with 2 Hellfire missiles, and if the UAV strays pass 3 squares on the map or runs out of fuel, it losses control and drops like a fly.

UAV controller:

sprint: short

armour: light

weapons: MP5, pistol, UAV controller and a knife



And another one, the civilian:

Sprint: short

armour: none

weapons: semi-auto rifle (like a sniper, without scope) OR a shotgun, pistol, firebombs and knife

Abilities: Can open doors usually locked, quieter and pick up claymore and mines if not blown up by it.

Chef's have the ability to throw pie, blinding the enemy for a good 30 seconds.  Besides that, chef's can also plant pies. Whenever someone sees the pie, they yell "PIE!! <3" and uncontrollably walk towards it and being eating, leaving them open for attacks. BD

Think about it!  A class for confusing the enemy!  You know how you're hearing is impaired when an exsplosion happens close by?  Well, now you could have a weapon that creates that impairment on purpose! 

To keep it balanced I see it working by creating a short burst that impairs unprotected ears for a limited time.  Your'e team mates can put on their hearing protection befor you use it, like gas maskes. The hearing protection will impair their hearing, but will protect them for exstending hearing loss. This would have to be tested to keep it from being to overwelming to gameplay but I see lots of potential. 

Even if you don't like the siren idea, who wouldn't love the flashbang launcher?!!!!!!

I'm sure some of my ideas that follow have already been suggested but lets just assume they are all mine.

My first post.... be gentle.

Spec-Ops

I'd love the ability as a spec-ops guy to be able to individually detonate my C4, you could have it so that numbers 1-5 on the numpad or perhaps F1-F5 detonate wach of the demo-packs.

In my opinion this would vastly improve the Spec-Ops guys, they would pretty much be base assault and defense specialists - a base with 2 entrances just has 2 demo-packs at each entrance and 1 stuck near the flag - you detonate 1+2 to kill a tank that comes in one entrance, 3+4 to kill an APC full of troops that comes in the other one, and any survivors that make it to the flag get blown to hell when you blow number 5.

Also how about making the standard Spec-Ops carbines adaptable (a la the SOPMOD M4) Your standard M4 could have a M203 (albeit with only 1 grenade to avoid over-powering the kit), or maybe a shotgun like the C-MORE LSS or Masterkey. You could alternatively have a QD silencer for those stealth missions and a tactical light for the new SF night missions.

Sniper

I hated the M95 at first but after getting used to it i'm now loving the ability to kill my helicopter loving friend as he rapes my teams spawnpoints, but how about DICE adding an SR25 (also known as a Stoner or SPR) to appease those who expected a new sniper rifle with the expansion pack. People who have played Americas Army will know this rifle and i'd personally enjoy the benefits of having a silenced sniper rifle as an unlockable item.

I'd love some smoke grenades and a thermal scope as an unlockable item, whether they are part of an existing kit or not doesn't matter but it would be great to be able to run into a massive group of enemy guys with automatics, drop a smoke and hide behind it while happily picking them off or taking the time to run away.

How about the ability to switch to a remote detonator for the claymores, you press the RMB like you do with the C4 and get a detonator, they are no longer proximity triggered and now rely on you pressing the big red button, this would be useful for defending a spawn as a sniper (a class which suffers greatly in this element of the game)


I have tons more ideas, but i'm starting to think this post is a bit too long - more to come soon

Welcome VEga!  Not bad ideas...  Especially the individual C4 detonation. But, how would you do it from a vehicle when the 'F' keys are to switch positions and the number keys are for weapons switch?  Hm...  Maybe C4 with variable delay would be a good middle ground?

Well i don't use my numpad keys for my weapons selections but if they could implement the ability to detonate the C4's individually that would be awesome. I'll put some of my other ideas on this thread when i can be bothered.

Parachute! - Take the parachute away from all other classes. (All other classes can still use all vehicles just dont have access to a parachute)

Nothing is worse than some clown going to take on the other team by himself, takes the blackhawk and bails out 600 ft above ground and parachutes into their base. Mean while there are teammates running around waiting for the BH to spawn again.

i think the assault class should be called a grenadier

and for the assault class here is what i have in store for equipment:

bayonet(you can still fire your assault rifle when you switched to bayonet but you can't zoom in)
shotgun
assault rifle
a frag grenade
a non guided anti tank weapon( if you think this would be unfair i won't argue)
and a grappling hook(for special forces).

now if i made an enginear class i would add this equipment:

a knife
smg(one that anti tank class has)
shotgun
hand grenades
buildable aa, mortar, and tow.
anti tank mines
wrench(that can not only repair and lower armor bar for vehicles and aa/at(you still would get repair points if you lowered the armor bar of enemy vehicle, minus if you lower the armor bar on friendly vehicle(optional)))(also can disarm claymores and mines(already in bf2)).

Now for anti tank here would be the equipment:

knife
pistol
smg
grappling hook for sf
anti tank weapon
anti tank mines
and grenades.

if i was working on sniper here would be the equipment:

knife
silenced smg(for defence)
sniper rifle
grenades(smoke and frag)
claymores
zipline for special forces
and binoculars.

now if i was working on medic the equipment would be:

knife
pistol
assault rifle
grenades
medic bag and shock paddles
and claymores(if you think unfair yet again i won't argue).

now if i worked on the support class i would pick this equipment:

knife
smg(yet again if it is unfair I won't argue)
lmg
grenades
ammo bags
tear gas and grappling hooks
and last but not least able to deploy mgs for other players to use.

Now for specops here is what i would of added(it is perfect already but just incase):

throwable knives(the secondary is to throw knives(the limit is 10 knives))(the knives do less damage than a regular knife)
Silenced pistol
assault carbine
grenades
binoculars
zipline(for special forces)
c4 that explode in 5 or 10 seconds
claymores
and regular c4 that explode when the button is pressed.

Now for grenadier class:

knife
pistol
assault rifle
grenade launcher
smoke grenade launcher
flashbangs(for special forces)
and maybe tear gas for special forces

I think all class should get flares as well(grenadier will be able to fire the gun but not zoom while it is selected)

Now for aa everything that anti tank has except with a stinger to replace the anti tank weapon.

What do you guys think?

The network tap is a dart that can be used on comander assets, aircraft, tanks and apcs. Once fired the techition would be able to do things such as disable the missile warning, mess with the damage and ammo indicators, and add or remove hits from uav and sattalite scans. The Hacker would have five of these darts.

To make it fair the darts would have a limited battery life so you would have to be quick with your hacking, and enginers would be able to detect and fix hacked objects.
