Hi guys

Im after building a new pc part after part. As i wont be using it yet.

First im gona get a new CPU and i wana go intel dual core.

i wana spend £150 tops on one

which would be better?

also what decent motherboard would support them? i want a board thats PCI-E and SLI because i want to end up having 2 graphic cards so i can game PROFFESIONALLY lol.

I also want water cooling, sonething as great and cool looking as this what hes done http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=46218

If someone could help me choos and work out a few things id be highly greatful as i look up to you smart arses who know alot about everything on here lol.

The E6400 would be better...and as to your mobo...I would wait til November when the new SLI mobos come out they will be awesome.

you aren't serious, right??

Obviously the E6400 is better than the E6300... it's faster... other than that, they are the same...

but if you could scrape up a bit more, I would highly suggest getting this:

double the cache and in most tests it beat or was just beat by AMD's FX-62

I just built a new system for a friend ...he got the 6300......its currently running at e6700 speed on air.....no probs..

intel........filthy filthy intel. Get AMD 64bit processors and a dual core motherboard. MSI has some good motherboards, integrated crap and all.

I agree hawk...but at the moment you cant fault there performance........ waiting for AM3 to arrive...!

So he overclocked it to run as a 6700?

If I were you, I'd wait until Christmas before buying. Intel have got a quad-core processor sitting around, waiting to be released. It's going to knock the current Core 2 Duo Extreme Edition down in price so it might have a knock-on effect on the rest of the range. Plus there should be some new motherboards, hopefully one of which will support SLI.
