its the same motherfucking babyeating engine.

but games using the same engine as another is common, for those of you who DONT know, or are retarded. Saves millions of dollars and years of development

no no it actually needs no ram at all. with the sucess of the method that verifies client data in bf2, it was decided that 2142 will create one massive page file and just read that directly off the harddrive. in fact, it won't run at all if you leave your ram in your computer. also, it doesn't require any display devices or a monitor.

Those are BS.  I have much higher than that and I was getting 40 FPS, at MAX.  Most of the time it was around 20.

But it ran. These are minimum requirements for the game to run. Nobody, including EA, said anything about it running well.

Well OK, it's the same engine as BF2, but I presume the graphics will be most demanding (at least from what I saw on the trailer...). I was running BF2 with 512M RAM at first and now use 1 Gig, much better...

The thing that I think will be more important is how your graphics card will affect gameplay. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 5200 FX so I run BF2 on low to mid settings. I'm sure you can play 2142 with low settings as you can with BF2, but it's a disadvantage, especially for sniping. If you're sniping with graphics that don't let you see past, say, the river in Karkand... well lets just say you can't shoot what you can't see. I don't go sniper much and that's probably one of the reasons. In 2142, it looks from the trailers that the maps will require better graphics because the view distance looks to be longer than most maps in BF2.

Anyway, I guess we'll see what we can see when we see that 2142 is for seele at the shops

Its always a toss-up between FPS and graphics... I like FPS myself, so although I have 256mb graphics, 1 gb ram and 3 ghz processor I run mostly low with some medium.
