Install windows, then the motherboard drivers, Then the vidio card drivers. DEFRAG after EVERY Install. Then do your windows updates. Then Defrag again. Then Install Programs in any order you want. Making sure to Defrag after every installed program. Simple. No wasted space.

As for virus protection, don't have it. Windows firewall should be all you need if your careful.
Norton BLOWS, it uses up more system resources and fucks up your PC more the any virus. (Been these done that)

This windows installation is 6 months old and still going strong.
