Star Wars...ok..no, but it is far from modern combat.  There are enough WWII and futuristic games out there, some of us want modern combat based on current or near future events.

2142 is just a half azzed official mod of bf2 so expect lots of screwups there too

If you were into any of the UT 0x series, youll probably like 2142, but if your more a dod/rtw/et/cod kinda player, stick with bf2

I will almost never buy a game where your main gun is a nail gun, and it's meant to be played more Run and Gun than stealthy.

BF2 in terms of stability isn't that bad anymore since the 1.4 patch, although some people get problems. That usually is a client side thing though, PC's that haven't been taken care of etc...

I'm guessing that 2142 will be even worse than gameplay because it is even more "unlock based" and they aren't even unlocks they are "upgrades" so people with them WILL do better than you.

So people will spend all their time going for points instead of winning and having fun (even moreso than in BF2) to get the stupid advantage. I mean you have to practically unlock EVERYTHING short of the basic guns. Including shock paddles, you have to unlock the shock paddles... lmfao. To be able to stat pad, you have to stat pad.

Plus BF2 has really great mods that really will change the BF2 experience, such as FH2, BF: Pirates 2, BF Apocalypse etc..those mods will change BF2 alot. Unlike other mods where it's still the same vBF2 thing but different army/vehicles/weapons/maps and a tweak here and there. 2142 has only futuristic mods which probably wont change much but just have new maps/vehicles/army/weapons and thats about it. It'll probably still be Walking Tanks, Titans, Flying spaceships etc...just like how most BF2 mods so far are are still jets, MBT's, APC's, Attack helicopters..etc..
