Alas it did not, and all the cutting edge radar wouldn't have even helped it even reach the beach which would have been a pitiful end for a blue water naval vessel if it had been able to achieve its mission.

Yeah i'd say the plan was shaky at best, especially with the old bombers that would of been waiting for her. She still took a fair old pounding though, fair play to the japs for having a good go. I wonder what would of happened in a straight fight with her and the Iowa, with no aircover for either ship, thats would of been a goodun.

No, it's not. Just look up there.

It's spelled right in this post.
But in the original post it still says "Bismark" and "Deutchland".

The Hood was the most feared in it's day, that is until the Bismark came along. As for the Yamato. Big ass battle ship with some very nice capabilities. Unfortunately, if I recall. it was beached in order to make more of a shoreline defence against the US. I guess that they figured a stationary ship would not sink, and provide a better firing platform. Boy were they wrong, lol.

Especially not if it's an Essex class aircraft carrier like the one in the list which is not the USS Essex in BF2. The latter is just an amphibious assault ship (Wasp class to be precise), but I'm guessing (or hoping) you already knew that it's not the same vessel as the one mentioned in the top 10.
