hey guys its getting close to the time when i will have all my money together for a new pc but the choices are endless lol.  i will have about £900 (£1000 Pushing it) to spend on a new pc, ive had a look around the web at various pc's which are already pre-built.  what im wondring is could i build a great system myself (well not me my step-dad would build it) for cheaper.  could u guys see what you could build me for my price range, what im looking for is amd dual core amd or core duo and would like sli aswell prefereably 2x 7900gt. i dont need a monitor keyboard or mouse as i already have that.

tnx in advance

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-7200 Dual Channel EPP XTC Series DDR2

DFI Infinity 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Antec P180 case

Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU

Western Digital Raptor 74GB WD740GD

Whats wrong with that? A Dell or Alienware with those kind of specs would cost way way over £999.....are you from the US....if you are you have to remember that UK is rip off central!

I don't think you can get what you want really without some big sacrafices.  Start off with the best cpu and MB you can afford with 1gig RAM.  Then try to find a starter vid card off ebay or a friend until you can afford one.  My computer is almost 3 years old and I am still one of the first in the game and I have absolutely no lag or connection problems.  It is also a work in progress.  I just ordered my liquid cooling system yesterday from Danger Den and earlier this year added 2gig ram and a vid card.   A good gaming system on a budget takes time.  When you go to upgrade don't do it half assed and end up having to replace it later with the part you really wanted.
