It's kind of ironic the way the say they did not expect this level of resistance - yeah right fuck off as if the whole world didn't see what happened the Russian infidels when they invaded..

Well, Belgium won't because our troops are horribly equipped so they'd just get slaughtered.

If you watch Channel 4 News and Newsnight regularly they have plenty of information on Afghanistan. The other News channels prity much ignore it.
I prefer to call them Afghani fighters, not taliban as ppl from the Northern Alliance and other Muslim states  have now joined the fight against the Collision. The propagandists have wrongly, successfully drawn parallels to the Russian occupation.
Newsnight was interviewing some young British troops the other night and everyone of them was concerned with the lack of troops and backup. A tree line 100m from the British base was full of fighters taking pot shots at them. If that was Iraqi and fleet of A-10's would blow the shit out of the tree line with in minutes. These guys were held down for days.
The Afghani fighters are very determined and very skilled according to British commanders. I suppose when you have been trained and armed by the C.I.A and have a flourishing Drug export trade for funds, you would be quite good.
