2. Create a new squad. And 'you spotted for'? Maybe they were just better players than your sorry ass/

3. Yeah maybe if you got more points and did more to help your team would've won faster/by more.

4. [SAF] clan? So what the fuck have they won to date? For people who know me I've won more from competitive play (JUST bf2 only) than you can DREAM of, so don't tell me what goes and what doesn't go. For someone who doesn't even play scrims, no experience in competitive play etc., stfu, go watch a competition or something,

5. You didn't say anything about capping flags, and yes, I spot, regularly, even while fighting on the frontlines, thus contributing more than you.

What about the Tag team snipers that hold back and entier team while spotting tanks and jeeps, intill the team arive for support?  how is that not been effective for there team?

The sniper kit is for team players who understand the concept of long range ground SUPPORT. A good sniper does not aim for the one shot head kill in the heat of battle, instead he should be aiming for center mass taking significant health away from the enemy so our assualt close quarters combat Marines can get easier and quicker kills. And that results in taking flags which believe it or not results in winning. If I am playing solo I seldomly go sniper but if Im playing with my friends and we are all on ventrillo, I go sniper and we own most of the time with a good medic and two good assualt players in the squad as well.

You're dreaming smurf. A tag team sniper duo is going to at most drop one or 2 guys who'll be promptly revived, the duo will have to back down under a hail of covering fire / grenades etc.

And tanks and jeeps can be spotted by anyone else, not just your lousy-ass tagteam sniper duo who'll lose to a accurate shot with the Assault Rifle, or even the LMG.

Go back to CS you little sniper-wannabe crybaby.

i dont play scrims for them anymore coz assholes like you take the game far to seriously. maby they were better players than m. but i dont realy care if they were good for them.however im not a vehicle whore like u lets see out of 45,590 kills only 8,529 came from kit weapons the rest were armour jet and helo, o but u do have 1349 kills with the grenade launcher your kills as a sniper are shit yet u have expert so u prob used a vehicle or commander to get that.
2) u have played twice the ammount of hours as me but u only have just twice the flag defends (700) more. o and of the 875 hours spent playing 425 of them were in vehicles i tend to stick to foot i prefere it .
i may not be the best player in the world but im not a self centerd big headed fu@k who takes the game to seriously i play for fun when i get in from work o and in case u wonder what that is im a soldier i do it for real

sniper often seem useless because 90% of the people using the kit should not be.  Same thing applies to choppers and jets, the vast majority of players should not even be given the option.  I am often a sniper but only on certain maps under specific circumstances.

most tournaments are too small and too fast paced for snipers to be effective.  unless you spam claymores, and then you're just an asshole.

Well we could argue this forever but if the real Marines still use snipers( and I think they know what they're doing), then why wouldnt a  sniper who is used properly help his team in BF2? I know its comparing apples and oranges but the concept is still the same.

Agreed,

A Main Role is to Install Fear into the Enemy, what do you do when you get hit by a sniper rifle u run, u find a med pack.  And the duo one kills the soldier then the other kills the stupid medic crouching to revive him in the middel of the field.

Also how is taking out a chopper or jet not helping the team win the match?

I dont know how meny times i have seen noobs open up with  a LMG or ausslt rifle on a heli, wtf... yet if u put a bullet into the heli u take out 10hp, u put a bullet into the heli piolet and the heli is screwed for 3 minutes alowing the team to oush forward.

so hwo is that sniper above not helping the team?

just so you know polarbearz the role of the scout/sniper on the modern day battle field is as a sergical strike unit by
1)eliminating key personel ie officers, radio opperators,  nco's, and equiptment specialists
2) observing and rporting all enemy activity in there area of operations
3) taking out key equiptment ie jets helos aa misile systems and generators this is usualy done with a barret .50 or m95 as it is called in bf2
4) laser designating targets for airstrike( laser guided bombs need to have the target "painted with a laser designater"in order to actually hit the target)
5) demoralise enemy forces by using hit and run tactics
6)pin down enemy troops
7)disrupt communications and supplys

the list goes on

Sigh, yes, that's IN REAL LIFE. Where you have 800 troops to every one sniper team, and a jet can take out an entire city.

But back to bf2. How effectively can you snipe a pilot out of chopper when the chopper is circlestrafing a point and raining death? = Zero times. I've never seen it done before, and it can't be done.

But they're few and far between, and between the two of you, I don't think either of you are that accurate. By accurate I mean let them bunny hop, let them dolphin dive, you'll hit them anyway. But I highly doubt either of you can, so you guys whine about nerfing this and that, making infantry combat slow as HELL, and making all you snipers who can hit something now think you're something great.

Furhtermore. BF2 = About flags. One man less at a flag means the few precious seconds I takes to neutralize it is lost. Maybe this is more true competitively than publicly, but I stick by my guns.

Dude, I'm a tol nub and on wide open maps (i.e. not Karkand), I can get like 70 points in a round using the sniper kit.

Tournys are all about teamwork, especially when you only got like 6 guys. On a 64 man server, who the fuck wants to team play?

Did you know that shooting the Helo with the M95 will take off 1 bar of health, just last night my team downed a helo as a squad of snipers the helo was strafing the arty island and all six of us opened up on it, it was on fire in no time.  can a squad of assault do that?, or medic?, or spec ops? i think not.  Have you actually seen two snipers work together? as a TEAM? They communicate. They can pin the enemy, they can strike at moral, sure there are people that cant sniper but there are also people that cant fly, they learn.  And you bearz have 134 hours as sniper, but 80% vehicle whorage?  wtf?

Sniper's jobs are the same in bf2 as they are in RL, its the team work that every one needs, we need to learn to work with the sniper. as the snipers works with us.

Sniping, i like it because i fell it provides for more of a challenge, not that I'm saying the rest of the kits is not challenging they are all challenging in one way, also sniping is enjoyable there's no better feeling then picking off a guy 450 meters away...
