we all know its going to happen, even with all the noobs going to quake wars. so this is a list, feel free to add to it


(in no particular order)


1.) engineer kit: this  kit is the shit right now with the minigun that it has, some of my best round scores on the beta have come from this

2.) APCs: while not really a nerf, complainers will likely get this changed too

3.) sniper scopes: either by lengthening the time of the scope steadier or making it worthless, this will be nerfed

4.) grenades: bitchers are going to get this changed to a default weapon instead of an unlock

5.) sentry turrets/drones: na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goood-bye...

6.) recon drones: see above

7.) spawn beacons will be gone or severely limited

thats about all i can think of now, feel free to add or contradict me.

I would love if there would once be a game that was left as is (excluding bug fixes) and let the players learn to play!

I hate those damn 'nerf this nerf that and finally ruin the game on most parts' patches which seem to be the normal prosedure nowadays...

Make a good game, sell maany copies, then make it suck with patches, make an other game - rince and repeat

I thought the pod ranges seemed a lot worse in the 2nd beta.

I'd accept them staying as they are if you coul dbail from the pod at the top of it's flight and then parachute to get some distance.

I think they might lower the HP on those Walkers because they have like 3 times more HP than a Tank have.

So you'll need like 2 tanks to take it down. Also I think we might see a reduced damage on those Turrets to, 2 shots to kill most tanks without a problem. XD Lovely tool imo.

Havn't had much time to test the other stuff thou.

Well apart from the server crashes things seemed pretty even to me. The walkers don't seem totally overpowered, the turrets are there to take out walkers and armour. The only thing I would say needs looking at are the titan weapons. They just don't seem powerful enough.

Titans weapons seems to miss a lot or something or rather random not to talk about that you don't see a shit when firing with them.

And walkers can take like 5-6 shots from those turrets before it dies and during this time they have plenty of time to attack back.
I could thou kill a chopper in 2 shots without big problems.

I think that your list is mostly correct; I'd just like to add a note about the kits for people who don't know already why engineer is crap.

Assault - up to 6 clips with 30+ shots each. Effective against foot soldiers and unarmored vehicles at close/medium/long range.

Recon - 6+ clips with 5 or 6 shots each (correct this number if its wrong) Effective against only troops at long/medium range.

Support - Basically unlimited ammo, capable of sustaining fire for a few seconds before over heating, but can be highly destructive to foot soldiers, and unarmored vehicles at short/medium ranges, and with practice even slightly effective at long range.

Engineer - Two weapons, the first having 5 rounds, each talking 5-10 seconds to load. Ineffective at close/long range against troops, effective against vehicles from the rear only. The second weapon has 2 clips of 30 shots and is ineffective except at close range.

If you compare the classes on my list you will be able to tell one thing. Every class fills their role correctly, except the engineer, who cannot properly take down vehicles, or personnel. To top it off, the unlocks are next to useless on a FF=1 server, since mines follow and track your own vehicles, and will cause you to be banned on many servers.

The Engineers Vehicle Sonar is actually pretty good.  Stick it to your tank, and hunt vehicles around buildings.  Cat and mouse with the hover tank is awesome with vehicle sonar.  The tracking mines works pretty well too.  The first AT is definitely worthless, but the direct fire AT is very effective (if you know how to aim).  Flyers go down fast with the direct fire AT.  I haven't unlocked the Anti-air AT though, so can't  review it.  Vehicle Sonar, plus Squad Leader UAV is a nice combo, but it's gonna take awhile to earn.

But in general, new players are going to get owned.  The unlocks just give veteran players more options: grenades, defibs, rockets, stabilizers, sprints, endurance, uav, turrets, etc...

compared to battlefield 2, battlefield 2142 feels alot less intense in my opinion, it just takes alot more patience and skill to play 2142.

That might be because most vehicles have a indestructable shield and the maps are so large its hard to be 'stealthy' about getting anywhere as infantry.

If anything the Sniper scopes will be improved. the constant up and down motion is irritating and unrealistic. Also the 'stabiliser' is fucking useless, it dosn't even stabalise the gun for ONE SECOND!

The Engineer has a Sub machinegun not a minigun. It would fucking rule if they had a minigun. Then all they'd need is a coffin on one shoulder and they could re-inact Terminator 3.

Knife needs to be fixed in general though, range is sometimes off. But they'll wait till the full version for that.

There is a really simple fix for the Pod nerfing... just get your titan close by and you can pod full height anywhere you want!

If the idiots didn't chuck a fat cry in the first place, things wouldn't of been nerfed in BF2, meaning they would have to adapt or fuck off to another game.  Hopefully EA/Dice don't listen to these idiots and continue with the great products they are turning out.  Because regardless of how much you all bitch, you all love the game.

Leave the active camo alone as well. It squeals like crazy when it's on and it's not like you cn't see someone using it. I'd say it's pretty balanced and it's part of what makes 2142 what it is.
