It will depend how serious the bugs are....multiple CTD's or servers crashing will bring out a partial patch much faster than one that fixes a few exploits and glitches IMO.

I think that EA will learn its lesson.  i mean patch 1.4 seems fine so far and they put some more work into it this time around.  i think around 2-3 months.

There will be a fatal instability discovered within a couple of days. They will patch that bug. However, this patch creates more bugs, and then they have to patch that one, but that creates more bugs, so they have to patch that. This will continue UNTIL THE END OF TIME.

I'm figuring that 1.1 will be out in a few weeks, fixing the last of the simple bugs (basically, what was missed in the beta), and hopefully it will become almost bug-free by the second patch.

I voted one month.

Ideally I'd like to see about 5 patches. The first one or two clear up the bugs, exploits, etc. The other ones add NEW FREE CONTENT!! People loved when Wake Island came out, and I'm rather partial to Jalalabad. But I think the BF community as a whole is getting a little taxed having to shell out $20 for a "Booster Pack" of new material that other games get for free. I think it would be really awesome if they added a third army after about 6 months or so. You know, something fresh to get people back into the game. Since the world is at war in 2142, the new army could fight both existing factions.

I would say about 3 to 4 weeks.
If EA/DICE went under that it would be the first.  They do not exactly have the best reputation for game maintenance over a long period of time.
The faster they release a patch the more concerned I am about what new bug is going to appear.
I prefer quality over quantity at the expense of time.

Let's see...they're retexturing the same game engine that's already been heavily patched and still is buggy...PLUS adding some new code...hmmm...

I would be shocked if they didn't put out some sort of patch, even a minor one, before the first weekend is up. Don't forget that the entire time the game is in production (i.e. after it goes gold...usually about a month's time between gold and release) they'll have an opportunity to find and work on bugs. Definitely in the first week, if not on release day.
