Took this pic with my phone so it doesnt really do it justice. It does give you some idea of the shear size of the monitor.

I had to push it further away from me as it was starting to make me feel a bit chlostrophobic being so close and right in my face.

As far as the Alienware. It is worth it for me. I have another one on the way. Everyone's situation and experience is different. Mine was good. Some like to build and save a some money, not me .

New one is a bit brighter, slightly higher contrast ratio, re-designed menu, HDCP over DVI, and a few minor cosmetic changes including a new base. Overall, just a refresh of the 2405, definitely nothing to warrant an upgrade from your 2405.
