found this out by overclocking my CPU 1hz at a time.
my stock speed is 1.8GHz. I have a AMD 64 2800+.

I start from 1.8Ghz and raise it to 1.9Ghz...no real change, so I up it again to 2GHz...bit faster....then 2.1gHZ AND I get a ridiculous FPS boost. 2.2Ghz is as fast as I could go with my cooling.

I heard previously that Bf2 really wasnt CPU limited, well it is and greatly.

I think its more important than RAM.

Sorry dude, the game is still primarily GPU limited.  I'm not saying the CPU is not a factor, just not primarily.  This game likes at least 1.5GB to keep from hitting the page file, and a fast video card, especially if you play with high effects, textures, and AA/AF on.

my old cpu was a AMD ATHLON 2200+ running at 1.8 ghz...now...

i have a new amd sempron 2800+ 64 running at 1.6 ghz..

this changed my quality capabilities alot, so i recommend for you go none 64 bit people to 64 before going all out on the ghz

Yeah, 1Hz is impossable.
