Well, I noticed this in SF (G-town), but it is probably the same on vanilla.

The speed of the TV missle has changed.  It is now a lot faster which makes it a lot more tricky to navigate due to having less time to hit your target.  Maybe this was the EA/DICE solution to make the helo soloists less effective, but I never heard about it in any of their change logs.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed a difference?

Well not completely true.  It still takes longer for the helo to fall from grace than a missle to hit its target at a max range of about 450m, but I think you are right in that was another tactic to dumb down the soloist.

Under 1.3 it was possible to launch and guide the tv missle from the helo without dying.  I've not tried it in 1.4 but I really hope that is the case.  It should be a lot more fun seeing all the soloist struggle because they aren't lined up by a good pilot to begin with.

I think that this was changed so that when you bail out of the chopper it doesn't drift forever in the sky.
You would get this very often with transport helis, they were just circling and circling. Now with the change the chopper quickly crashes down and can respawn at its spawnpoint.
But this affects of course solo-choppering aswell.

p.s. : a way of finding out if they really changed the speed of the TV-missile would be checking the variables in the chopper's or missile's .con/.tweak-files...

It doesn't crash too quickly. Some guy pwned the shit out of me last night by soloing. I didn't notice the TV being any faster, but if it is, that would help the soloists get back into the pilot seat faster before the heli crashes.

nope you can still solo your heart out, the helo spins (clockwise i think) but the engine only cuts out after the tv missile has reached its maximum distance so you can easily take out that chopper just in your range and switch back to pilot seat

Damn so now all the retard gunners I had on Iron Gator as a MEC wont be able to hit anything at all opposed to them not hitting a hovering target. Good thing as a Navy Seal in an Apache you dont really need a gunner.

No, the TV missile is not faster. But there is a delay in clicks now making solo choppering much more difficult. Also, moving targets are harder to hit now because of the delay. The delay is about 1/2 a second to repsond after clicking whereas it used to be instantaneous.

*Edit* That's a delay after each guiding click, not just the initial firing.
