so so so so sad. may he rest in peace.
I have met him a few times, he really was a nice man, and very energetic, his wife is one of the most gentle people I have ever met aswell, I really do feal sorry, I was in my IT class when i found out, no-one beleived it untill we actually saw it on the daily telegragh website, very upset, RIP big fella
persoanlly i didn't like him as an entertainer/personality, but there's no denying he did a huge about for wildlife information and conservation. i'm with pure beef on that score.pure_beef_69 wrote:

its funny how many people, insdead of morning get off on telling everyone there was the same thread three posts earlier.
these people need to get real.
this guy made people smile which is more than i can say for most of us.

He was a great guy and brought a lot much needed attention to wildlife conservation. But he must've really scared the shit out of and/or scared the stingray really bad for it to attack with the barb. I would expected something to happen sooner or later. (Not that I'm not sad about this.)
[There's a lot of sites saying "Stingray attacks", but the fact is that Stingrays don't go poking poeple in the chest with barbs for no reason at all. Most attacks occur when you accidentally trod on them since they like lying in the sand and they sting your legs]
[Another fact is that either the sting ray was huge and had enough piercing power to stab straight at the heart, or the barb hit NEAR the heart (like the chest and ribs) and released the poison that caused a cardiac arrest and/or allergic reaction which caused his death. Although being underwater certainly would not help if you had a hole in your chest.]

Too bad...
Too bad...
I am totally gutted.
My Bro just sent me a link to a MSN news page over msm then. Thought he was just sending me one of these funnies which people always get. Then i realised what it was.

I love watching that Australian Zoo program each week on tv. Will be sad not to have him around.

They estimate it's size between 1-1.5m across with a tail around 2m in length.Aquastorm wrote:

That's one bloody big stingray.
To all his detractors i would love to see you dumb fucks get up and do as much as he has accomplished for the animals of the world cause if it wasnt for him and his kin there would be alot more ignorant people out there.
People said he did what he did for money but i have had the pleasure of meeting the man and seeing the spark in his eyes the feeling the love of life he had what he did for animals he did cause he loved them and he did so much with what he started with i hope with all my heart that Bindi and her little brother carry on that spark ( Bindi has a spark twice the size i reckon the way she loves the animals at her home ).
Australia and the World lost a great champion for the wild but thankfully he has trained a army of followers via his shows and his Zoo.
Thanks Steve for what you did and may you get the rest you deserve we all know you deserve mate.

Great bloke. Sad to see him gone. Did some pretty dumb arsed things, but a true Australian.
Steve was not "nuts" or "crazy" he was a good ol' Aussie bloke doing what he loved. He done alot for this country tourism and wildlife wise.
I'm sure his daughter Bindi will carry on his flame.
Rest in peace Steve, rest in peace.

all these retards showing disrespect need to be kicked off these forums or banned or something coz thats just messed up. Show some damn respect for a guy that has done more for animal conservation in his life than 100 conservationists can do in their lifetime put together.
A great man, he will be missed. RIP Steve Irwin.
