i just do large loops over the repair station, intersecting the strip every pass

- A tip for all ye aviators. I don't think it's well known.
From a programming perspective it makes no sense at all. Why go through all the trouble of
creating something that scales the repair rate based on distance. But then again I am guessing
that the folks who are responsible for programming BF2 have no sense to begin with... <rim shot>
I havent really noticed this at all in all my flying, usually I just align the jet with the air strip and
make two straight passes at around 450 mph (mimimum speed in game to maintain flight) and my
jet is ready to take on more punishment.

Tried it on Daqing, on the fried rice side, and it makes a huge difference. Can't believe I've never noticed this before, but I don't fly all that much.d3x74 wrote:

Took me a while to figure out why I never got repairs on the bomber's runway on kubra dam (usmc airfield, the bombers runway is nowhere near the repair trailer)
Known about it before this thread though.
Known about it before this thread though.
140 odd hrs airtime & remembering where the best spots to slow to repair on most the runways,& ive never paid any attention to any objects around the airfields, other than the obvious uav/scan/arty & barrels to blow up lol, thaught the rest was just there for decoration.have to check out your theory tomorrow.
Thanks can't wait to try it.

Did you people seriously not know this?
Whats better is on some maps with 2 runways if you come perpendicular to the runway you can hit both repair depots in 1 run nearly fully repairing your jet. Works well on MEC base in zatar.
Anyone want to post a picture of repair zone of the essex?

When you fly the jet the first time the voice doesn't tell you that the silly repair station is what's doing it :<Gen. Payne wrote:

It just says fly over the runway for repairs. I always assumed it was an arbitrary point on the runway that did it since it didn't seem consistent across all maps, but never noticed those repair stations.
It's really nice to know though, I don't bother flying over the runway now, just over the repair station.
Obviously not - and i didnt either - gotta try it outGen. Payne wrote:

this should be featured.
Gee...almost 70 hours of flying and I didnt know this...thanks
So many doubters, keep callin this a UAV trailer. Original poster is talkin about a different trailer. On Wake, this trailer is right nest to the J-10 spawn point. UAV trailer is a little further up the runway.
And yes, after readin this thread, I did try it and it works.
Thanks alot. It really helped out.

btw UAV trailers have wheels and glass panels. kinda easy to identify btw...*RIP*gonzo21 wrote:

Do you get these on the carriers as well?
gee didn't know that thanks
uh.. no it isnt bullshit...BUDFORCE wrote:
sorry this post is bullshit, no offence to the original post starter.
It is to some co-insidence that the repair areas on most run ways are close to teh UAV trailor, but if you take for example kubra damn 64 as USMC you will find this is simply not true.
There are points on each runway where you will get repaired, also, teh repair rate is constant no matter where you are int eh repair zone, there is no place that you repair faster then other places.
I also thing (although I cant confirm this) that the repair point changes dependant on which way you approach the run way.
shows ya lack of experience too..
i've done it heaps.. it repairs about a half of your entire armour bar ..
fly over it at at a very low altitude and at speeds of about 300 and you'll get that much repairs done in one run..
on carriers places of repair would be around the middle of the carrier and the plane's original spawn point.. flying slowly over these two areas repairs ya about 1/3 of your entire armour bar.. if you go any slower you'll be entering hover mode and it'll take a bit of your boosters to get you up to speed again..
note that if you DO go slower it'll repair you about half too..
then again you could just hover and repair..
Well...that explains why i nevre get repaired on Dragon Valley as chinese...
alll maps have this repair station... its just placed at diffrent places..
the most irritating one for me is the one on OCS where the mec bomber spawn..
you'll have to either miss most of the runway..
or fly carefully to avoid crashing into the hangar..

Thank you... I finally know... +100 Karma
To clarify the issue with the carriers: The carrier consists of 5 parts and the us_carrier_wasp_back thing I think [I'm not entirely sure] does the repair job. The back, the middle and the front runway parts do resupply stuff. And on a stationary airfield, it's the airstrip itself that resupplies.
it's hard to do it dragon valley without crashing into trees/hangars when getting close enough for it.Unclean009 wrote:

Yeh, i'm guessing it's either the airstrip, or the top part that repairs, near the end with all the jets:lord_tyler_486 wrote:

somewhere around there. but, on some carriers, you get repairs all the way down. maybe it depends on the angle of the carrier?
Nice tip me as a 40 hrs plane whore *LOL* didn't know that
As a side note for mapping dudes: The carrier's parts, the Helipad, the Air_Repairstation and airstrip parts are static objects, which automatically assign themselves to the nearest flag, and the team which has the flag. If you place an air_repairstation somewhere, make sure the nearest flag is the flag that you want the airstrip to belong to, otherwise it maybe won't work for the right team.
That was my second thought.FFlink13 wrote:
