I have the following ram.

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 (2x XMS2 1GB) Twin2X PC-6400 DDR2 RAM 2x240-pin DIMMs Non ECC Unbuffered 5-5-5-12

When I use Everest to look at my computer it says the ram is running:-

(5-5-5-18 @ 400mhz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270mhz)

What does it mean??? I thought it was supposed to be 800mhz ram?

I'm running a AM2 4600+ on an Asus M2N-Sli deluxe board.

Is this ram good for overclocking??

I know a few questions....sorry.

timings are the latency/rate of transfer that the ram can handle..

lower the better

anything over 3-3 + isnt going to give the best performance

How do you change the timings?  I can't find it in the BIOS!

You can change your timings a little, but mostly it's based on the quality of the RAM.

lower timing the better (for AMD), higher bandwith the better (intel)

Wait, WTF, higher is better? I don't think so, else RAM would be like 50-50-50-50.

And here's my timings on my P4 PC:

higher frequency the better, lower timing the better but intel cpus dont get affected by timing as much as amd cpus though

no real life difference like fx62 w/ ddr2 800mhz has way higher bandwith than core 2, but no real life difference
