Plain and simple, what the hell are "facts." I know what the definition is, but how can you ever know what a fact is? I keep hearing people say "check your facts" or "get your facts straight," but what the hell do they know anyway. If the government tells you something, it may be a piece of truth, but most likely a very, very small piece. So why do people always say "check your facts" when the facts they are quoting are most likely far from the truth anyway?

Gahhh! I'm drowning! Save me!
Seriously, true, but in some cases, namely dealing with historic wars, the people who yell the loudest don't know what the hell they're talking about.

Facts sometimes equals evidence to back up a claim that can be validated.
In historic terms, you never say something without having evidence to prove it.
But then, when you research the evidence and judge it, you use your own background and interpretation to understand it. Then the meaning of the fact or evidence becomes biased.
Because it is you who are seeing the evidence based on your life experiences.
Which makes you full of shit! J/K
A good way to avoid problems, is when you see or here people claiming facts. Never attack the facts themselves, attack the source in which the come from and research the agenda they have for presenting evidence as a fact.
Another rule is qualitative is better than quantitative
Numbers suck, statistics suck even more!
Then again, I could be full of pooooooooooooooooooo!

"Facts" are what people use to "prove" their "points" with "information".
Anything fully proven and not a theory.
Of course there will be people who will claim "OMGCONSPIRACY" at basically anything or DOUBT the fact, but eh.

Fact: Facts are unreliable
Fact: Facts about facts are unreliable
Fact: Facts about facts about facts are unreliable
The Matrix has you

(ok, my post probably wasn't worded very well. it was supposed to mean that "facts" are what people use to prove their points, ignoring everything that contradicts their point.)
Edit: Before you ask, yes, I am one hell of a cynical kid.
