Well, part of this same group that you say could never take down the west, sure as hell did a major part in taking down the Soviet Union.
Are you actually suggesting that although we may get attacked from time to time and even a dirty bomb may be exploded in one of our cites, that I should just relax, because events like that wouldn't really "dent" us that much?? I can't believe I just read that!!!
All good and well Cameronpoe, well then I guess it would be ok if it were YOUR family that was killed by a dirty bomb. After all the big picture is Ireland would still be there huh??
Lowing - 'this same group' didn't play a 'major part in taking down the Soviet Union'. That is simply untrue. They drove them out of Afghanistan. Sum total of what they achieved. The Kremlin had about as much control on Afghanistan as the coalition has on it now - not very much. You are over-inflating the achievements of 'this group' - a group who would probably not have achieved their vicotry if it were not for the fact they were fighting a proxy war on behalf of USA, with their continued military and financial support. They no longer have support from a militarily strong country.
The reason you should relax is that the likelihood of anything bad happening within the US is miniscule. If something did occur it would be highly unlikely that you personally would be unlucky enough to bear the brunt too. The only solution to what you seem to be suggesting is the eradication of anyone with sallow skin and a beard. You aren't giving me much in the way of solutions here. I don't know what you think is the best approach to dealing with this exaggerated problem. My approach would focus on defence rather than attack because, as we have seen with the march you have mentioned, attack only worsens the situation. Not addressing the core problems that drive people to become extremists has really taken a backseat. Especially since USA became an unadulterated Israeli satellite state, taking orders from Tel Aviv rather than the other way round. The US can no longer act as a balance arbiter of justice in the middle east so any US involvement in the region is going to derided and is going to generate more extremism.
Hey - we're all members of the 'Western Society' - just because Ireland will be OK doesn't mean I'm not concerned for the US, Canada, France, etc.
