Ability unlocks: I believe they are temporary unlocks. Basically, say you are ranked at the third rank, you can use the 4th rank unlocks if you do well for your team, and you keep it as long as you stay in the server.
Pretty sure the ability unlocks are permanent as well. The squad unlocks were described as 'teasers' in one of the 15 minute interview videos the DICE devs did. They specifically said they give you access temporarily to stuff that is one rank above yours.TheCanadianTerrorist wrote:

it isn't invisibility per se, it's adaptive camoflauge, which means you blend in like a chameleon but you can still see an outline if you look closely enough and i think it works like sprint where you can only use it a short time before having to recharge
Active camo isnt really that far off in the future. The military will be using this in the next 25 years.

* middle Hand grenades (frag), make you always have 2 grenades with you when going into battle.
* middle Extra hand grenade (frag), an addition of an extra grenade, i.e. giving you a total of 3 every time
you go to battle.

^but it is a good way to avoid base rapers. it's not too hard to avoid them 2-3 seconds till activation.
Maybe you guys should try a mod. they're free fun and without Halo stuff.
