Just noticed FilePlanet has a 2142 beta sign up page on their site. While you can't actually sign it YET, it's a good sign that they are getting ready for it. They've said all along that the beta would hit in august, must be getting pretty close.

For their own sake, they had better get 1.4 out before the beta releases or there will be some very pissed off individuals around here

As far as I've been able to tell from random chatter and rumors and this and other sites, you will need to have a paid subsription to file planet to get the beta when it first comes out. Towards the end of the month, a few weeks later, they will release it for the general public. This, so far, is speculation and I can't confirm the second half.

Well I just downloaded Flight Sim X from Fileplanet yesterday and for a minute I thought I was going to have to sign up to do so. In the end I just ended up using my email and gamespy password (the one I use to login to BF2) and it hooked me up. No problem. Don't see why the 2142 beta will be any different. We all have a gamespy account from BF2.

i subscribed almost a year ago, just hoping it doesnt run out 1 day before the beta lol.. overall I can say that it was well worth it. Lots of exclusive content, and very fast downloads with no waiting.
