Some of you may have heard, especially my fellow Indianapolis and Indiana residents, that Indianapolis has been on a bit of a crime spree lately. Between Wednesday of last week, to Sunday over the weekend there were 11 homicides, 5 of which were within a 24 hour period over the weekend. Now I know homicides and crime is no stranger to Indy, I mean shit, its Indy, but what the hell is up with everyone lately. Indy and its metropolitan area make up roughly 1 - 1.5 million people, and Indianapolis in square mileage is bigger than many major cities around the country, as well as being the 12th largest city in the states (I believe in population). I just dont get what drives people to murder a cab driver in attempt to rob him, or break into someones house and kill all 7 members of the family that were there while trying to rob their house (happened a couple months ago). Indianapolis is no NYC, or LA, and the crime rate isnt as high as certain parts of those cities Im sure, but damn, I wish these people would realise that because Indianapolis is trying to spend more money within IPD and putting out more patrol cars, taxes are going to go up, so if the worthless murderers have jobs other than trying to rob people, they will make less money because state taxes are going to rise.
Oh, and a bank about a mile from my house was robbed Monday morning, after a chase across the county they ended up catching the actual robber, and were still searching for the driver....which makes the 3rd or 4th bank robbery in my neck of the woods within the past year.
Feel free to comment, but this was more of a rant than anything else....
