yes. those ribbons are commented out at the moment. what ive heard from reading the forums is that EA has the basic coding in place to award them, but it wasnt finished in time for the ship date...so expect a patch sometime to correct this.666 wrote:

P.S Nice site, I'm a graphic/web designer and this is a very clean site, 2 thumbs up.
I don't have pictures to prove it, but I have definitely got a BF2 ribbon in SF. It doesn't show in my BF2s stats, due to SF update issues, but I achieved the Legion of Merit Ribbon the other day playing SF (this page does show it).Jester.retseJ wrote:

There IS a Night Vision Badge. There are images and there is code for them in the files as well. Accept that.rEdTe@M wrote:

dipshit, pay attention. the images are embedded into the game itself.~THE_LOTUS_POD~ wrote:

I don't have photoshop, i'm not a graphic artist. Let's agree to something further, you and I have never met and i've never tampered with your computer. Now that we have that out of the way, I will magically make these images of the night vision badges appear on your PC.~THE_LOTUS_POD~ wrote:

Excellent reply. Someone got pwned and should now admit that there IS a night vision badge. Problem is, you'll have to wear nightvision in order to see the badge. ;-)Jester.retseJ wrote:

Go to the following zip file: x:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\Menu_client.zip
In this zip file, when opened, you will find the following folder: External\FlashMenu\
images\awards\front
In that folder you'll find the pictures of all the awards that the game installed on your HDD. Use an image viewer to look through them and you'll see the 3 night vision badges there. It's not like i'm pulling these things out of my _ _ _ . The same files you have installed are the same files I have installed.
I'll admit I'm just guessing here but maybe you need to play as Spec Ops if you want to get that ribbon in BF2 ?Jester.retseJ wrote:
Tried for the SF Aerial Service Ribbon within BF2 to see if you can actually get these ribbons in an original version round since there's no jets in SF. Played for ~25 mins on Dragon Valley (64 player), got 33 kills in an F-35B and no ribbon. So this confirms that you cannot receive SF ribbons while playing BF2 unless someone else has achieved this feat.
It does seem like you can receive BF2 ribbons in SF though after reading some threads but noone has posted any pic to prove this.
I dunno, don't have photoshop. I used IrfanViewer, freeware you can dl from any major dl site. Some image programs have problems viewing the file while it's zipped. Unzip it to a temp folder and then you should be able to view them easily.Raxor wrote:
any reason why photoshop cant open the files :S or should i use annother image viewer ?

As for Aerial Ribbon: No you can't use helis. Has to be time spent in some type of jet/bomber. Tried to get this badge in BF2 but it's not possible, used AT, sniper, & medic kits.
did you try Spec Ops too ? after all, this is a SF ribbon. sorry if this sounds silly...B.Schuss wrote:

You just like giving me more work to do. No, i didn't try with a Spec Ops so i can't comment definitely but now that you've brought it up, I will. Let me try later on today and i'll post if that works or not.B.Schuss wrote:

i'm about 99% sure you can receive vanilla BF2 awards in SF. just not the other way around.General Zod wrote:
If I had 100-hours with assault class, and made 40 kills in one round while playing an SF map, would I get the expert assault badge? And once reaching 44 kills, would I get the expert assault combat specialist badge, too?
In other words, can you get regular awards and specialist awards in BF2:SF? Or must I play a vanilla BF2 map if I want a regular award?
