I've got a really annoying problem with this mouse when I play BF2. I want themiddle mouse button to be Prone (default is Z key) but the game has such flakey support for this button and I cannot figure out why. Sometimes I load the game and the button works great, and then it might suddenly stop working. I could press the button as hard as I can a thousand times and it just doesn't activate my prone. Instead I am more likely to have my weapons cycle with the way I am trying to press it (since the button doubles as a mouse wheel).

The button works fine outside of BF2 anytime I try it. I am pretty sure it's some compatability issue. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem and know how to fix it?

Have you tried going into the Logitech software and setting middle click as a "Z" keystroke for in BF2? I bound side scrollwheel click to 7 and 8 for SF and it works.

Check setpoint and go to the setting for ur mouse

I don't think that is possible. It has 8 "buttons" you can change and the button where you press down on the also scroll button is not in the settings list.

I thought that the scroll wheel was designated as a weapon selection "wheel" and "button" only. I didn't think you could map anything to it.

Agreed on the flaky aspect of the Controls window in BF2 but there is no middle mouse button on the G5, that's probably most of your problem right there

I'd use the right or left tilt on the wheel, put a keystroke assignment on this in Setpoint and you should have the problem sorted.

One last thing: if you play SF in addition to basic BF2 you may need to make the assignment for all programs in Setpoint, if you do it just for the BF2.exe then it won't work in Special Forces as far as I can figure out.
