How to get rid of the damn scrollwheel bindings

So after months of accidentally scrolling and changing my gun in mid-battle (my microphone for TeamSpeak is activated by pressing straight down on my scroll wheel), I finally went and unbound my scrollwheel from changing my weapons. I never ever use it (only the number keys and F), so it made sense.

If you'd like to do the same, remove these 2 lines from the bottom of your Controls.con (My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\XXXX\Controls.con):

Just tested it and it worked like a charm. Yay!

Allthough i dont think this is a general problem Viper !

Is there a way to bind a key to switching between your primary and secondary weapon.
So I want to be able to switch between assault and pistol at the press of a button.
can this be done by editing the controls.con of do I need a macro tool?

You can freakin asign any freakin key to what ever you freakin want in the controls-menu ingame !

thats the FUNCTION KEYS..

i'm talking about that thing that looks like a letter E with the bottom broken off it.. its between the "D" and "G" keys on the second row of your keyboard..

You cannot cycle back with the F-Key, so it sure doesn't work wonders.

And for the difference between the F-Key and the F-Keys - my fault, i'm used to people forgetting letters.. X)

I've never been able to assign the mouse wheel to anything other than its default function.

As for being able to freakin' assign any function to any freakin' key the last time I reinstalled I had the common problem that's been reported many times and led to the manual editing of the Controls.con for many people in the first place: it wouldn't let me map a bunch of keys because it said they were already in use even when every field was sodding blank!
