I am really sick of the heavy Special Forces lag.  I am strongly considering 2GB of RAM and am looking for reasons to convince myself to get it.  Is it really worth 90$ and convincing my dad to let me buy another 1GB stick?  I just need some assurance because I want to be sure that this is worth it, plus I don't have a job.  It will probably be my final main component upgrade for this particular computer as well.

Here's the one I want to buy.  I already have the exact same one, I just need another to make it to 2GB.

I think i'm gonna do it then.  I just hope my dad doesn't give me any shit about it, then again, he's probably never put in more than 1GB of RAM in a computer before so he shouldn't talk, lol.  This is gonna be awesome.  Should I get some cheap heat spreaders too?

I upgraded from 1 gig to 2G gigs.  It changed the game.  I can run it now on single player with the graphics cranked up.  It hasn't crashed to desktop nearly as much.  Things load quicker.  I'd recommend it and was glad I did it.

more expensive but its worth it (getting an upgrade too 2gb soon myself    )

you dont really need heatspreaders on ram, unless your overclocking, but it can never hurt (or you do something wrong badly)

Not required, unless you plan on editing video while playing BF2.

I know it's not required, It was a sarcasm. Get fast RAM and you should be fine. 1 Go is enough

Don't hesitate, 2GB it's not that much, either. Normal nowadays I'd say. A buddy of mine's got 5 GB! Myself got 1 GB, but upgrading to 2GB soon, too.

4GB is too much for 32-bit Windows XP.  3.5 is the most XP 32-bit can handle I heard.  As for this mobo, 2GB is the limit.

You can put as much ram u want into a 32-bit Xp, but it will only recognize 4gigs

I heard XP starts to crash after 3.5GB.  Of course my motherboard limits me to 2GB anyway and I don't have that kind of money anyway.

I have never heard of such crashing.

4 gigs = limit for 32 it windows. Only other thing I have ever heard of is where the 4 gigs isn't detected and shows up as 3.2-3.3 etc.

What are the rest of your system specs though? 2GB of ram won't help if you have a GeForce3 and a Pentium2.
