.45 APC. you use a handgun as a last resort, the .45 makes sure you dont have to go hand to hand
.50 Caliber... just because its the most powerful and penetrates concrete and other types of metal.
.50 is way overkill in all situations
If I'm not mistaken that was also the same round they used in the Thompson SMG's, I've heard the bullet is pretty sweetstryyker wrote:

i so want a 1911...

it was indeed, it had manstopping power, so did the M1911, before the military and police softened up and switched to 9mm and 5.56
yeah it is, and it is pretty goodSpearhead wrote:

Colt .45 WWII all the way
7.65mm Browning.

I need around tree fiddy.
10mm. Almost as much stopping power as a .45 ACP but small enough to carry more ammo, and is a little more controllable. Only problem with 10mm is it's a little powerful for smaller people.
10mm is the original .40 Cal auto. The .40 S&W came about cause a lot of smaller people were complaining that 10mm was to powerful and hard to control. Therefor I've always called .40 Smith & Wesson the .40 Short and Weak.

pfft .60 cal atw
without a doubt in my mind the M1911 Colt .45 is THE greatest handgun ever created and will be for ages to come. WITH OUT A DOUBT
Definately and good luck with the recoil, a nice .45 is well balanced and will knock the f*ing block off someone, the .50 is just messy. Kimber 1911 to death do we part.stryyker wrote:

Most police agencies use .40 S&W.......stryyker wrote:

Yeah agreed the .45ACP has some serious stopping poer, .44 Mag is nice but you don't need to be taking body parts off, same thing with the .50 cal way too much power. 9mm is for girls same thing with anything below .38 although the .357 is a good round. But being a Connecticut boy the Colt 1911 .45 is my weapon of choice if I had a choice.
Depends what situation, if you rbattling a couple zombies its the .357.
abunch of headcrabs and youll want the 9mm holds more=]

Interesting to see how many people here know a lot about firearms and their cartridges (not bullets), and how many know only things from video games.
Hahahah dude, im just kidding i have a Ruger .22 LR next to my chair
EDIT: with banned 25 round mags XD
EDIT 2:PSS: while the .45 blows a bigger hole its not as accurate with shorter range while the 9mmm is just right

in my area, they use 9mm semiautomaticsAlbertWesker[RE] wrote:

The 9mm is good in only a few situations 1. it has no recoil 2. it has a low penetration rate (won't pass through walls well *aka* into the neighbors house) 3. higher cap mags..... but you'll need three times the ammo to incapacitate, thus the problem. At least use the .40.
Well yes, maybe in your area, but more than 85% of Police agencies in the U.S. use .40 S&W as a main service firearm cartridge.stryyker wrote:

Not so my .45 is a nice clip to about 25 yards 2-3 inch groups. What more do you need, pistol cartriges lose alot of energy after that point. I like my 9 for plinking.SealXo wrote:
