I got in on a deal at Newegg where I got a S754 3400+ Venice core CPU (2.4GHz) and a Biostar mobo for $95 shipped. Yes I know S754 is outdated, but it's what I already had. My MSI board is far better than the Biostar, so I put the new CPU in there and went at it. This thing managed 2.64GHz (240x11) without breaking a sweat, and did it at 1.45V to boot.
Now I can put my old S754 3200+ (2.2GHz) in my secondary box with 1GB RAM, and X800 Pro and have a system capable of running BF2/SF when the grandson comes over.
I'm psyched!
