For the people that know me and my posts on this forum, this one might appear a little strange. For this, I make no apologies but I still acknowledge the fact.

I am a fan of America. I just saw the new Superman film - Superman Returns - and it dawned on me that I actually like the concept of America. I totally buy in to the whole Superman thing, of fighting for "Truth, Justice and the American Way". I like this ideal - that anyone can come to America, be accepted for who they are and, so long as they keep their nose clean, make a good life for themselves.

The trouble with America today, in my humble opinion, is that people have moved away from this concept. What I see now is cynicism, distrust and corruption. Perhaps that's a symptom of the age in which we live, something that's not unique to America, but I t think that's an excuse and not a forgiveable one.

Anyway, long live Superman and long may he hold true to his ideals.

You are right, this day in age those values have been forgotten and GREED is what fuels this country. So so sad.

It is a symptom of the Justice System and Government turning a blind eye to people coming to America Illegally and holding no allegiance to Our country. People at one time came here legally, became a citizen, and were proud to be an American. Now people come here illegally and try to live off the system, bad mouth America, try to force their language and culture on Americans, and tear down American traditions and customs.

Breasts are for babies, a solid b/c cup that can weather the effects of age and gravity is great. I think the the dream involves some nice pooty with a shapely booty. Maybe a chick from Switzerland that only knows the word yes in English.

I would also like to note that you don't want your neighbors wife to be repulsively ugly. You want some good competetion in the looks category to make your wife stay in shape and ready for action.

America never really was that ideal. Just a little historical digging will tell you that. America has always been corrupt, and has only gotten worse as it has grown.

As for Superman Returns, the movie sucked the plot was so weak.

It's actually very hard for foreigners to live in america. It costs a lot of money and a LOT of hassle.
My soon to be sister-in-law is becoming a citizen and it is setting her back a pretty penny and quite a few headaches. It's not as easy as just getting married and, voila, you're a citizen. Same thing for my friends who recently married a Mexican and a Canadien (2 differant friends of course). Too bad it's not like the old days when our ancestors crossed The Pond:(

Um, what source are you smoking? Because according to this and this, Clinton's average unemployment rate comes out to ~5.205% -- lower than at least 60% of Bush's time as president so far. not only that, but unemployment apparently dropped each consecutive year he (Clinton) was president, eight years in a row.

(The first link has bars, so you can see exactly what the trend is. The numbers from both sites are basically the same for every year.)

I want a hit of whatever ideology you're on...

Heh, figured that was coming. I don't necessarily disagree but... The first comment I responded to was meant to support kr@cker's view that Bush is a good president, true? It also cites a specific source (bureau of labor stats) and a specific contention (clinton's avg. % "about level with" bush's max %), true?

The second comment (Albert's) was a "fuck yeah!", with an (unintentionally) ironic comment about how Bush's opponent's are so blinded by ideology, they can't understand stats.

Well, with all respect to kr@cker, his own source doesn't even agree (hey I'm just sticking up for the Daily Show watchers here ). AlbertWesker's comment was just gravy...

Like I said, though, you're not necessarily wrong about presidents taking blame or credit for what could have been in the pipe already. But when you're staring down the Worst President Ever award, you'll take whatever credit anybody can make up on the spot, I guess...
