Hi people need help with my computer.
In the last couple of days bf2 its not running as well as it use to.
I use to run my graphics all on high and never had no problems on any maps.
I now have problems even when i run them on medium.
The game judders like if u are lagging but it is not lagg im going on the same server as i used to and pinging the same as usual.
I have a gtx 7900 gforce card, with 2 gigs of ram and a amd +3500,
should i be able to run graphics on high with this?
Anyone else having problems recently or any ideas on what i can do.
I hav tried reinstall bf2 but no joy its still the same.
Any help/ideas would be most grateful.

There are a few things you can try....

1) Ensure that you delete your profile when uninstalling. This is rarely a problem, but sometimes this helps a bit. It's especially important to delete the cache files

2) Rename your bf2.exe file. Sometimes the Nvidia drivers "recognize" the file and try to "optimize" your gaming experience. Optimal my a**. Renaming will prevent this optimization.

3) If you patched with incremental patches, try to patch with the full patch. This may not help a LOT, especially on speed issues, but it will usually help on other issues

4) Remember to set your punkbuster config correctly. While this rarely slows down newer PCs much, it does have some effect. When starting a map hit the tilde (or whatever key is the console key in your setup), and type in the following two commands: "pb_sleep 500" and "pb_writecfg" (without the hyphens ofcourse). This should prevent Punkbuster from doing too much scanning on your drive while loading/playing.

5) If you have the option/software, defrag your game files and cache after installation.  This will usually only give you a second or two better loading, so I doubt this is the problem, but try it just in case. If you do not have software that will allow you to selectively defrag what you want. Uninstall BF2, delete your cache, defrag, then install, patch, and here's the kicker: start a multiplayergame you HOST, choosing EVERY SINGLE map in the list, then load each of them to put the textures in the cache. You should now be able to load a lot faster

6) Ensure that you do not have any weird programs running in the background. A lot of stuff can interfere. Clean out your PC from virus and spyware. Ensure you dont have any messengers loaded, ensure that your webcam (or any other items running on USB or firewire) has been disconnected if you're not going to use it.

7) Once you've found a "good" config. make a backup of your drive "as it is". This is always good to be able to restore in case of problems.

This should help... At least it helps when I do it.

I think its the hot weather. Mines running slower than normal. What cooling you got? I have to turn mine off for half hour to get it cool again.

7900s don't like overclocking much for some reason so I would take that off if it's overclocked.
