Ok now I know she is doing her job and I'm sure she is doing a good one, but with what I know of the middle eastern culture women are considered second class citzens.   My point is do you really think that she is the best person to send into the region to have serious talks on this??

Discuss it's a cultural thing that I was thinking about.

My attitude is that the west should not have to compromise their core values. As such, Islamic countries can just go ahead and learn to deal with it. Also - the people in power in these middle eastern nations are usually far from your devout Allah worshippers - they're usually sitting in some palace puffing on Cuban cigars and enjoying fine cognac or scooting around in leer jets and rolls royces.

Yeah but in such a region that is so amped with strife, we should use their rules to deal with them that is why it's called diplomicy

And does the US government hide Condi when they come to visit the US? In Ireland we have had a female president since as far back as I can remember. Such diplomatic niceties would preclude the actual president of my country from engaging in diplomacy with middle eastern nations. I don't think that is acceptable.

Well that's a different story cause it's on our grounds hence our rules... Just a thought I had that something might be handled better with a man.

MIDDLEEAST=POWDERKEG

Overall Condaleeza is doing a good job I think. I don't agree with this admin or some of her views but I can't knock her. She worked hard to get where she is.

I was  thinking the very same thing!

Allthough they didn't think highly and certainly didn't fear aldultoruous mastubaters either.

So we must all agree she is quite a few steps up on their respect scale.

It seems your are now of the opinion that we should deal with them on and at their level if  we are to deal with them effecively and realistically and expext their respect.

Does this also aply to prisoners at Gitmo and Rules of engagement also?

Ok when I re read that I just got the tear on clinton, nice..

Yeah I would say that in their culture using a man might bring a little more pull, just an idea..

As far as the prisoners at Gitmo I'd say yes but Rules of engagement NO.

What a great ambassador she is! Nobody respects her after she lied about the Iraq war. Powell would have been better. He lied but he had enough sense to get out of the Bush administration

Hm. Lebanon is probably the LEAST fundementalist state in that small area (not counting the UAE and Kuwait). They have a substantial Christian population. Hezbollah itself is not a fundementalilst Islamic group AFAIK.
