32" westinghouse, 1366 x 768 native resolution

A few months ago on my older computer I had my Dell 2005fpw (VGA) and this lcd (DVI) being plugged into a 6600gt. If I made the Westinghouse the default monitor I could play BF2 on it, not sure what resolution though

For the last couple months I haven't used it, and recently I upgraded all my parts, now to a 7900gt, with Dual DVI.

I can get everything to display on this LCD and browse like normal, but when I go to click bf2 it initially loads up then goes back to the desktop.

I only have one DVI cable and while I prefer to use it on the Dell, I'd like to use my VGA cord to go from my DVI on my card to the LCD's Analog input. DVI to VGA adapter.

I put the shortcut back to normal (took out the WS fix), didn't work. Put the 1366x768 shortcut in, that didn't work.

I need suggestions!

Worse come worse, I will let you borrow my Axe and maybe you can chop a couple of inches off of the screen so you can use it.....

You dint have to thank me, I'm just fulfilling my duties towards humanity...

I dont think the BF2 supports a widescreen resolution.
There is a file with your video settings in it.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings\Profiles\Default\Video.con

Open this with notepad and make sure this is set to 1024x768 and a refresh rate that the screen can handle.

Then try again.

Hope this helps dude.

Oh man 1024x768 res on a 32"       You can probably put your finger on one of the pixels.

when you upgraded your vid card did you delete/move the old battlefield folder from my docs?

http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=19609 is one example of many if this is the problem...

other than being a complete waste of money, the picture quality will make the soldiers pores the size of hubcaps.

is that resolution even supported?

you know, some people like to sit further back from their moniters. Me personally, i'm about 4 feet away from my 20" if i feel sleepy and wanna chillax.

A bit hard to play from that distance though.

And regardless, I can't stand anything below 1600x1200. Anything less is just too little desktop space.

okay, now were done dissing your monitor/tv.....(ahem)...have you been able to run the game on a regular computer monitor? if so, then do so...youre only hurting your game by using the tv/monitor, however good a tv it may be.

yeah I got it

It's not my primary monitor, just my tv that sits about 3 feet away from my Dell 20"

And no, it doesn't look like crap. At least not from  ~ 4 feet away

i'll see if i can get a pic, but from that you wont be able to see the pixel distortion

i have some sort of dell not sure what model it has an ati X600 i connected up my 32 inch HDTV and it auto configured its self and runs perfectly in fact when i was in CC it changed my graphics driver to X600 samsung(make of tv) and then a bunch of numbers, when i stuck my 17" monitor back in it went back to X600 drivers so what i am trying to say is it could be the drivers. oh by the way being a sniper on a 32" tv is ace the scope view is about 17" in size its sweet....
