Hey guys. Read the whole article and take a look at what page the book was opened to when they found it. Very peculiar. Conincidence?

An interesting read, and yes, odd coincidence.

if the carbon code is to be said dated back 1000 years and is proven by scientists, i would say yes an odd coincidence.

peat bogs have been known to preserve things quite well, several mummies that appear to have been druidic or celtic sacrifices have been found

"First of all, it's unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is incalculably more amazing."
And it just HAPPENED to be open to that page.

Smells like yesterday's diapers.

QFE.

And holy crap!  Verses 9-18 of Psalm 83 sound like some kind of spell or curse, LOL.  But hey, it's a religion of peace, right?

Psalm 83
1: Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2: For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3: They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4: They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5: For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7: Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8: Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9: Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11: Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13: O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14: As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15: So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16: Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17: Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

King James Bible

Also, isn't it interesting that the AP/Reuters sources are picking up that element of the story whereas others aren't, and at least one source refers to a different psalm altogether, 89.

Surely just another coincidence.

Yeh, that's what I thought too.  Hmm.  The National Museum of Ireland guy in the article says "it's unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all" and then, not two paragraphs later, "the owner of the bog has had dealings with us in past and is very much in favor of archaeological discovery and reporting it".

I guess the key part there must be "fragile".

I don't understand. Are you guys implying Ireland has some agenda w/ Israel conflict so as to skewer this story? Or that the US news is filtering the story the way it sees fit? Im not understanding the conspiracy here. I just thought it was a rare find with a coincidental connotation relating to events of today.  I see nothing more than that.

So which aspect of it is peculiar then?  Now I don't understand.

I'm just skeptical because of the fraud a few years ago with James (brother of Jesus) tomb and that black tablet describing the renovation of Solomon's Temple, can't remember it's name offhand

The page it was "supposedly" open too is whats peculiar. Coincidence but peculiar. But not in a conspiracy sense. Im jut not sure why your article has a different legible Psalm and the CNN one is quite a bit different. Just the way this convo is going it sounds like it is being implied that this is a ploy of some type given the times we are experienceing with Israel/Lebanon. Like some sort of mislead to let Israel do what they want? I think your first post implied that to me. I may be wrong.

If there is evidence of some sort of conspiracy ploy with this "find" I'm for a good convo. I just wanted to understand whats being implied by "fishy" and "smells like dirty diapers" "In a heatwave".

People, respectable Irish news sources haven't made any comments about which psalm the book was open on. The find definitely seems 100% genuine. I don't know why anyone would particularly doubt it's genuinity. We've been finding all sorts of things preserved in our boglands for year. Even quite recently two very well preserved corpses of celtic noblemen were found in the bog, complete with skin, clothing, jewellery and red hair!! THis ain't a fraud. The whole psalm 83/89 thing is either media hype or just a coincidence. Anyone what purpose would if serve to highlight that it was psalm 83? I don't get the significance.

I'm just naturally suspicious of the way news stories propagate through syndicated networks is all.  And when you consider the way North American outlets have been pushing the whole "get behind Israel because nobody else will", it's not surprising to see AP/Reuters interpret psalm 83 the way they did.

Also, kr@cker is right.  There are always fakes in archeology.  Some of them just get away with it longer.  Not that the Irish in particular could be said to like spinning a bit of a yarn, like...

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the black tablet, but look up "Tomb, James, brother of jesus" and you'll find one of the best fakers known, he just got too greedy, he was responsible for both frauds as well as several others (on dial up at work, it would take forever for me to link it)

Yeah - I remember a documentary on that guy - he made millions making almost impossible to disprove 'archealogical' finds, including the sarcophagus of James, brother of Jesus. He knew archaeology inside out so he knew all the tricks that would fool the other archaeologists (down to the forensic level, etc.). He made millions on roman buttons, ancient vases all that kind of shit. Then the Israel Museum found him out and stuck him in prison I think.

I know, nobody remembers or cares, but I did some follow-up on this and it seems the Museum of Ireland just had to piss all over the mainstream media's apocalyptic fun...
http://www.museum.ie/news/details_news. … newsid=231

See, it turns out the Psalm-numbering in the oldskool Vulgate is off by one, relative to the King James, so their Psalm 83 is our Psalm 84.  Oh well.

Still, if you want a laugh at the expense of what some people actually call the "liberal media", check this video out...

Mmmm, apocalycious!  What does the "C" in CNN stand for again?
