You don't need to uninstall the old drivers. Just install the new ones and they will overwrite the files from the old ones.

Trigger
   This is from Nvidia

Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.

But like I posted it does nothing. And nvidia has no answers in there forums about this problem

I know it says that, but it's just a suggestion, it's not entirely necessary.

Agreed.  XP is pretty good about not messing up nVidia drivers when you have more than one on your system.  In fact if the new one sucks, you can easily roll back to the previous one through the control panel.

Well, you can do it that way...

No offence guys, but the best advice is to uninstall the previous drivers first(then reboot), before installing the new ones. If there isn't an icon in the "Program files" list, or the Control Panel, then browse the actual install folder for the uninstall exe. Most companies are pretty good about it now-a days. If you find the uninstaller, and it won't do it's thing, then there is something wrong with the system. When installing drivers over the top of older drivers, it can create problems like this.

Just my 2 cents.

I have always uninstalled the old drivers before putting new ones on. But that's just me.

btw, wrong forum...the driver issue is not even randomly tied to this site or BF2 ( although you might argue that up-to-date drivers are pretty important for maximum gaming pleasure ).

move it ? close it?

I need to start looking at where people post threads...

Moved.
