Just wondering, does arty have a set pattern?

Once i'm in the middle of an arty strike and i see where one shell landed, i tried to move there as fast as i can (due to the idea that it can't strike twice, i don't know if its been proved hence this post) i've only done it a couple times. During those couple times it only worked once b/c of splash damage or being hit directly after that. So i'm asking, is there some way of evading it?

Arty isn't random.

If anyone can create a picture graph of the pattern it would be pretty cool.

Eg:

()         ()
    ()                ()   {we all know that one shell that seems to be 50 meters away from its brethern shells}

  ()          ()
       ()

I wait for two shell to drop, hopefully im not under either of them, from that you can orientate which direction to run your arse off.

I'd check it out execpt i have no time right now.

Simple, really, open cmdr screen, drop arty, FRAPS it and make a picture with red dots or something. Try it 3 times and see if its the same.

Go on an empty server with battlerecorder and drop it on an on object, then FRAPS it coming down from above to show where they hit.

I think it's pretty much random, I've sprinted through an Arty storm laughing my ass of with clan mates over TS and made it only in the same game been hit by a 'stray' shell... I'd like to be better in BF2 but being able to evade arty through knowing a pattern? Seems a little bit cheap.

Just stay 100 meters away from me and you will be fine. Only problem is that I can't stay away from myself, . It seems I was born with a big arty magnet on my head.

i have noticed that there is an offset area WHERE the commander wants to bombard,i believe this also changes on every map (the offset impact area).all the commander has to do is offset his aim slightly and he should start hitting where he wants to.i believe the offset also changes its angle and distance depending on which flag you try to bomb, this could be ea's/dice's way of trying to bring a little rl into the game.........maybe im wrong but i have learnt to aim off on a few maps/flags.so you cant runaway after the first round as you do not know if the enemy commander has offset or where he is aiming for.

  ()         ()                     X = aimpoint (original)
    ()   %    %       ()        ()=original impact area
            X %    %            XX=aimpoint offset by commander
  ()    %     ()      XX%     %=modified impact
       ()       %

if someone could change the colours of the above it would make it easier for others to see...tnx
