I usually hate it when people give the BIO of their computer, but I really felt like bragging and wanted to know how things stack up...

I have:

-AMD Opteron Dual Core 2.6 Socet 940 (280)
-8GB (4x2GB) DDR400 Registered (has to be registered with Socet 940)
-Foxconn NFPIK8AA-8EKRS Motherboard SLi (I got it because of the SLi)
-2 Nvidia GeFore 7900GT SuperClock in an SLi config
-HighPoint RocketRAID 2310 PCI Express x4 SATA II Controller Card
-5 Seagate 300GB SATA drives running in a 1.2TB RaidSet
-WindowsXP Pro x64

Now the registered memory is a bit slower than the non-registered so that is a bit of an issue, and the RAID makes things a little slower. That and my buddy that works at Intel tells me that I should have gotten one of his Procs, but I think he is full of shit and I could not afford to get the XEON. Plus I got all the Ram on EBAY for 50 bucks. So that is why I went Opteron.

Feel free to tell me that I spent to much cash and gotten the X2, my wife does and she is a graphic artist.

Well Unless your doing HEAVY Graphical work, 8 gigs is a bit overkill. But if ya got the money why not? Id like to see some sysmark ec benches.

I dont stack up, not even close.

I have not run the benchmarks on this machine after the RaidSet. I am sure that didn't help. I will get them and try to post em' Sorry for the lack of information.

It is used by my wife (Graphic Artist) for Photoshop and other strange to me Video and graphic editing things. (Never thought that she would be doing this much work from home.) I use it for running one or 2 VMware's (Linux) at times, as well as playing BF2 and CS:Source. Loads really fast (can load all of the maps to memory). But it is really really good at compiling/rebuilding stuff.

BF2 has everything turned on to the max, including reflections and AA. I will post a screenshot as soon as I can...

That looks pretty amazing. But what we really want to know is: just how much did it cost and can you play at more than 1280 x 1024 with everything on high? (in which case, bastard!)

I presume you need XP Pro 64 in order for Windows to recognise that there's more than 4 gigs of RAM?

Ditched the 3500+ for an FX60
Ditched the X800XT for a X1900XT
Ditched the A8N-SLI Deluxe for an A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Ditched the 2Gb OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 for 2Gb OCZ DDR 500 EBPE
Ditched the Ultra X-connect PSU for an Antec Phantom 500 PSU
Added another 76 GB 10k Raptor in Raid 0
Still using the Audigy 2 ZS because I've heard to many probs with X-Fi

So technically it's a whole nother rig now but she still looks pretty much the same. Anyway thats my baby.....
