I was wondering whether people thougth it was cheezy to get your combat badges by using arty in the command role. I personally think it is only cheezy if you are using it to get your plane or chopper badges.
What do you think?
What do you think?
No - Arty for the win! | 51% | 51% - 137
Yes - Fight like a man or tough woman! | 48% | 48% - 131
Total: 268 |
Same here. Commanders should stay the hell out of planes and helis.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
aaack, I voted no but I meant yes, I thought it said ground defense and for those I honestly don't see how 20 GD kills IAR is doable at all. As far as combat, get your boots dirty.

LOL. That's the reason why my badge hasn't gone anywhere past bronze. Not planning on using arty to get my veteren (though, when I got the basic, I'd had the kills, but not the time), let alone expert.genius_man16 wrote:

if anyone can get that normally, without arty, i'll give them Karma for the rest of my life

yeah maybe he is deciding whether or not to do it himself?Volatile_Squirrel wrote:

Only recently got Veteran Ground Defence (using the Gatehouse TOW on Dalian plant against Chinese coming from their uncap), so I don't know if I'll be able to manage the Expert GD the honest way, but I'll give it a try.twiistaaa wrote:
i think its bad for everything except mmg and aa. only because with both of them you cant really go out and do the work you have to let it come to you, and a good pilot wont mess with aa and even a begineer can sneak behind an mmg.
Nicely done.MrE`158 wrote:

But I'd disagree that you can't get the Expert AA badge the non-cheesy way, because you don't have to use fixed AA sites, you can use the mobile AA. Also, you can chase it down on Armoured Fury where the aircraft are that bit more vulnerable (slower, no afterburners, very fragile scout helo's). Plus of course, mobile AA is pretty good at slaughtering infantry, especially the Linebacker with its big splash damage, so you can pick up a few 'easy' kills that way. That's how I got it:

And yes, I died seconds after that shot was taken. (already damaged, and that little red "x" on the right is coming from some dude I can't see...)
For me, the badges provide satisfaction at a job well done. I've very little interest in getting them cheaply (like I did with the Expert Knife, all I did was patch the game...). Expert AA is my first Expert badge, and it's nice to know that it's there because I put the effort into it.
