sorry, ive heard you cant change the tv cams sensitivity... but i think it is your default windows sensitivity. Plus i dont really know how much it would actually help.AirForceOne1 wrote:
anyone at all gonna answer me? how do u get the sensitivity to actually "kick in"??
Everyone asks what my sensitivity is. I personally dont think it matters... its just what you are used to. But just so you know i use defaults. And another thing to take note of is i believe bf2 uses your windows mouse settings for all its sensitivities... so pretty much every persons is different. And that being said... mine is a lower windows setting (i think 750 dpi, i have a mx518)iPoon.be wrote:
Wow, that was awesome
I could use some more tips on your config though, whats your mouse sensitivity for flying the heli? I tried with high and low, and they both dont work really well
Well.. its just practice i guess.. I know how you feel. It took a loong time for me to finally 'get' it. I remember when i couldnt seem to judge how far i was from the ground and would often run into it when pulling out of a descent(attacking a tank or something). Or even buildings...But thats also a benefit of staying up high... you dont even have to deal with that stuff! just stay high on maps like dalian.iPoon.be wrote:
I tried out the landing part too, but i usually end up crashing the heli o.O
And the turning stuff is easy enough, but when you have to dodge an attack and then try to keep your heli straight, im sometimes wondering why i even bother (i always crash)
I assume you mean TV missles. Ive never really thought about how to aim them... i just do it. One thing that mentally helps me is just expect to hit -every- shot... cuz sometimes i can get sloppy and then go on a missing streak. But thats down the road. My advice for aiming a tv missle is 1... aim for key spots (tail rotor.. and back of moving vehicles) 2... dont click too much.. The first shot should be Very close to where you need to hit, the following 2 or 3 clicks should be small adjustments for that. And besides practice...Theres probably more... ill have to think about it. (plus it helps to have a good ping/ good computer)iPoon.be wrote:
One more thing, could you tell me how to aim the missles? It seems the crosshair is just no good, they dont land where you point the crosshair, but you seem to be a perfect shot anyway..

Your voice is relaxing. I almost fell asleep.
I haven't noticed any difference in mouse sensitivity settings but just to be safe I have everything on 10
Here's a very good tip : if you use a mouse and find yourself crashing <damn trees:P> becouse you cant pull up fast enough dragging a mouse, set a third key on your mouse <if you have a third key, ex. in mouse wheel>
as pitch down <pulling up> <it also works great in aviator> trust me it saved me so many times when I was sure to crash. Also it enables you to turn very fast - just roll left or right a bit to get a angle and press pull up on your mouse...hope it helps

but on a quick side note... how do you make it so that your sig says something like <link title here> and you can click on that (make it not show the Actual link)
I see you did it looks cool

aye thats for pictures... but i mean for links... my video links to be specific.
well i didnt mean to sidetrack my own thread but its [ url=url]TITLE[/url] without that one space
Why shouldnt u hover, tell me
'Tis not black or white Emo, Hovering CAN be useful, but just in the right situations. Jets around? Don't go hovering at 100 feet up waiting for enemy choppers. AT'ers about? Don't go hovering close to them. And as evil-fruits|st4r recently discovered, you shouldn't hover in front of TOW's either
Nice chopper video, those pilots in the jets seemed clueless though. Most of the opposing team seemed clueless. I'm not saying anything though becuase there are private first classes out there that are better than me in choppers, i can't fly them for shit.
The infantry video - i feel sorry for you when 1.4 comes out, Medic bags will not be abled to spam everywhere meaning instaheal and prone spamming like you did will be gone.
Start playing differently or we're probably going to have to read to your complaints about "how Dice fucked up in 1.4"

heh, no amount of nerfing will make me suck... ive been told many times by people like you i will suck the next patch (anyone remember c4ing? i bet You were the one complaining then just as you are now). You just have to learn and adapt. But why not be as effective as you can?Mekstizzle wrote:

why should you hover? i dont see any reason why you would sit still besides being lazy. You sit still, you are an easy target.. its as simple as that. You never know where an enemy is lurking... so its best not to take chances.elmo1337 wrote:

Ur just a plain noob if you cant dodge missiles, done, I hover all the time, my gunners gun is more steady, easier to kill people then, more kills, ask terrorslicknic wrote:

A smart AT doesnt use the zoom lock-on giveaway to hit you, he fires while the launcher is held next to him.elmo1337 wrote:

Hovering makes you an easy target, and heli armor is weak.. youre also going to get .50cal fire on you from AA humvee's :p
Anyway, you seem to have missed that he's a solo pilot, so theres no point in making it easier for the gunner
I have 2 gigs of ram and I have HIS Radeon x1800xt 512 Mb and settings at high and medium and no lag. And It really doesn't depend on with what graphics you play if you want to get vehicle, it depends on ram cause I can still get almost always vehicles with medium and high settings. Yea I don't think I need this guide, I just like your effort and you're really helping someone. (Also you opened my eyes to solo piloting...)slicknic wrote:
heh.. it helps to have 2 gigs of ram, a raptor... and lower settings. Also its surprising how many people will get out if you ask nicely (oh and jerks.. i will tk).Hacial wrote:
You got awesome skills, maybe I start to solo pilot myself when I learn... But how do you get into a chopper alone? When I go to chopper there's always someone right after me at gunner position.
also because dalian has 2 helis.. sometimes you can be the first one to get the secondary heli.
edit- oh and i see your already pretty good by the ss in your sig ^^ dont see why you would need a tutorial like this.
Awesome vid man. Really helped me.
Hovering is bad for several reasons.
1. Easy target for ground fire, jets and other helos
2. Lack of mobility, rotating around a target will keep you mobile and ready to jet a moments notice. Going from a hovering to mobile position takes up precious time...
3. You're view is limited while hovering

Hacial you almost always get your vehicles because you have 2 gigs of ram. You would load even faster if your textures were low. Just try it and you should see a noticable difference. But if your already getting there fast enough then who cares. but thanks again
and thanks to the people backing me up \o/

This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. You may be a good gunner, a good pilot, but Hovering is NEVER necessary. A small, steady rock back and forth is MUCH better. Anyone who has been hit with a tank round or a TOW while hovering would realize it's not the smartest thing. You should be able to gun almost as effectively while rolling back and forth. Survivability=Potency.elmo1337 wrote:

Great video, you've inspired me to practice on the helis.
Didn't have a problem with the commentary, I much prefer that style to the 'omgwtf I kick ass' screamings of some others.

If you hold the right mouse too long, that will happen. Also, if the TV mode doesn't come up right off, you might click again. Then it will go to TV, then back to gun. I do this a lot, it's a bad habit.ionescualex wrote:
Yeah, that's the problem I always get. And is it just me or does this happen to everybody; whenever I switch between machine gun/TV mode, say I'm switching to TV from gun, it will go to TV, back to gun and then TV real fast. wtf?
That was a good video. I didn't really learn anything new, but I'm sure others would.
I like your flying style, it's quite similar to how I fly.
good movie man , im off 2 try it now
You must be the best pilot in the whole of BF2 nice one. +1
